From Me to You

I want to start by saying thank you – thank you for considering an adoption plan. I want you to know how much I admire you and your strength. You might be surprised to see that I am adopting as a single mother, but I want you to know that I am ready. I’ve held many titles over the years; sister, aunt, and daughter, but the one that has always been missing is mom. I have been ready to take on this role and am looking forward to the day that my dream of becoming a mother comes true. Being a mother has always been important to me, however, I have struggled with fertility issues since I was a young woman and knew that adoption was something I would be open to.

I can’t wait to share my love of family with your little one. They will be warmly welcomed into my family and I can already picture the joy they will bring to our existing holiday traditions, like visiting the local Christmas Village and driving around to see all of the Christmas decorations. My family takes yearly trips to Disney World and I can see your child’s face light up the first time they see Mickey Mouse in person. We will spend every summer with their future grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins at the Jersey shore, another one of our long-standing family traditions. I am open to any type of communication you are comfortable with so you can be a part of these special memories too whether it is through photos, updates, or yearly visits.

I come from a large family, and they are very supportive of my journey. My parents, George and Sharon, live right down the street and will be a constant in your little one’s life. My sister, Aunt Gina, is a teacher who has dedicated her life to children. She can’t wait to share her love of education, sports, and travel. I also have dear friends who are as close to me as family. Uncle Frank and Aunt Michelle are wonderful parents to my niece, Julia, and nephew, Frankie. I know they will be strong role models. Frankie and Julia can not wait to become big cousins and be there for your child every step of the way. There are so many more people in my life that are looking forward to welcoming your baby – I can guarantee you there will be no shortage of love surrounding them.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this process. Your sacrifice gives women and families like me a chance to make their dreams come true. I hope you see all the love, happiness, laughter, and opportunities that I can offer. Your child will grow up knowing that they are loved and that the sky’s the limit. I want you to know that I have so much love to give a child and I promise I will encourage them, guide them, and help them make their dreams a reality.

Thank you,
Danielle

Why I'm Choosing to Adopt

I’ve always wanted to be a mom. After years of struggling with infertility, I began considering other options like IVF, insemination, and adoption.

My Great Aunt was a Sister of Notre Dame who spent her life dedicated to helping others and started a program in the 70’s to help those who struggled with substance abuse and guide younger women through their choices during teenage pregnancy. She and I would have many talks about me being a mother as she knew my struggles and how badly I wanted that role. Prior to her passing in 2018, I went to visit her at the convent as she had become very ill. At the age of 92, her mental state had started to deteriorate and her moments of clarity were few.  In the last clear conversation we had, she asked me to promise her one thing – Before I put my body through any of my other options, I would consider adoption. This was the last conversation we had before she passed.  A moment that will stay with me my whole life. This moment is where my journey began, I spent the next year researching adoption, agencies, and single-parent adoption. I read blogs and stories, and deep down I know this was the right decision for me. I prayed about it and reflected on my life and it has brought me here. I know how much love I have to give; I know that I can give a child a wonderful life and the way I choose to become a mom is through adoption.

About Me

I was raised in Pennsylvania with my parents and sister, who I am still very close with today. In fact, my sister Gina lives with me and my parents are right down the street. They have always been there for me, supporting me and cheering me on. My mom has four sisters and my dad has a brother, so I grew up with a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We have shared many holidays, vacations, and adventures together. Growing up, I attended Catholic grade school and high school, where I met a great group of girlfriends who are still in my life now. My girlfriends are a wonderful group of women. We have been through all sorts of events together – first loves, first heartbreaks, weddings, and babies. They are so very excited to add another little one to our group.

In 2005 I received my bachelor’s degree in Communications and began a successful career in marketing and advertising. After working in marketing for 15 years, I decided to go back to school to earn my master’s degree in 2018. I received my master’s in advertising and marketing in December 2020. Education has always been very important to me, and I will encourage and guide your child in their academics just as my parents guided me.

Messages from Loved Ones

“We still remember the look on Danielle’s face when she told us that she wanted to adopt a baby. She had a look of love, determination, and nervousness, and we immediately knew she was ready. We have no doubt Danielle will be a wonderful mom. She has so much love to give and is so ready to be a mom. We are overjoyed at the thought of being first-time grandparents and can’t wait to be there every step of the way to help Danielle and the baby. Danielle is funny and witty and her smile brightens up any room she is in and is a constant in the lives of all of her family, friends, and especially her nieces and nephews. She is the person we can all count on and we can’t wait to be there for her in the same way. We have a very big, loving, and fun family and there will be no lack of love, laughter, or friends for your baby. Plus, now that we are retired, Mom – Mom and Pop can’t wait to babysit and make memories with our new grandbaby.”
Sharon and George (Future Mom-Mom and Pop)

“Danielle has been my best friend, confidant, and go–to person since the day she was born. I am the older sister but she is my hero and the person I look up to the most. Danielle is a beautiful soul both inside and out. She loves fiercely, unconditionally, and with her whole being. I could use so many words to describe her: funny, kind, generous, patient, determined, witty, outgoing, organized, genuine, creative, compassionate, courageous. The list can go on forever. She is so ready to be a Mom and I cannot wait to be fun Aunt Gigi. I have the privilege to live with my sister and I will be here every step of the way to help her take care of a baby. I am a teacher and will have the same school schedule as my niece or nephew so I will always be available to babysit or coach little league. I am bursting with excitement at the thought of being an Aunt. I can’t wait to have a little sidekick for summer adventures. Museums, playgrounds, the beach, baseball games, dance recitals, coloring, sidewalk chalk, bubbles? Sign me up! We are all waiting (im)patiently to welcome a new little one into our family, and we can’t wait to shower your baby with love, encouragement, and guidance.”
Gina (Future Aunt Gigi)

“Danielle was the first family member I was introduced to when I began dating her sister Gina 2 years ago. Danielle is smart, easy to talk to, helpful, she gives great advice and has welcomed me into her family with open arms. When Danielle told me she wanted to adopt, the first thing that I said was “That’s great because you are going to make a great mother”. I see the way she interacts with her nieces and nephews and how much they love her and look up to her. I am an experienced uncle with 11 nieces and nephews and I am so excited to add number 12. I am a huge sports fan and can’t wait to take my new niece or nephew to their first Phillies and Eagles games. Danielle is always willing to help me and I hope to repay her by being a part of her and baby’s support system. Your baby will be so blessed to be a part of this loving and caring family. And as long as Danielle continues to make her famous chicken cutlets I will always be available to babysit.”
Bill (Future Uncle Bill)

“We are so excited for Aunt Danielle to become a mom and for us to become cousins. Our summer house is in the same development and can’t wait to spend summers together. We are 13 now and want to be able to help her when she needs us and teach the baby all new things, as well as guide them to always do the right thing. Aunt Danielle has always been there for us and we can’t wait to be there for everything with her and our soon-to-be cousin.”
-Frankie and Julia (Future cousins)

My Relationship with You

I want you to know you are always going to be a part of your child’s life.  I will make sure they know about you and how blessed I am for your decisions.  If you choose to, I would love for you to tell me your favorite things or write notes that I can read over and over to them as they grow.  I will always remind your child that you have given me the most wonderful gift.   My family and friends will love you, you will be thought of as part of our family.  I am open to any type of relationship that you would like to have.  We can share letters and pictures, and I will always let your child know who you are and where they came from.

Lifestyle

My life is a good balance of work and family, and that will continue when I become a mother. My company offers a flexible work schedule that will allow me to work from home and adjust my hours as needed to make sure I can always be present for school, sports, and all the important moments in a little one’s life. I am also very lucky that both of my parents live down the street from my house and that they will be able to help watch your child in the early years.

I spend my weekends with my nieces and nephew shopping, playing games, watching movies and being in the moment. They can’t wait to become big cousins. My work week is split between the office and home. I like to carve out time for coffee with my parents a few times a week and have dinner with my sister almost every night. I can see us starting new traditions, like weekly family dinners. Having a flexible work life ensures that I will be there to watch your child grow and be present in their life.

I also love to plan vacations. Most recently I planned a surprise visit to New Orleans for my uncle’s 80th birthday. Family is very important to me and with him living so far away I wanted to give him the best surprise of family. My family, including aunts and cousins, flew down to surprise him for the weekend! We love parties and celebrations and being together!

Home & Neighborhood

My townhome is in the same city and neighborhood where I grew up, and my home has been in my family since the early 1900s. It was originally purchased by my great-grandparents when they immigrated from Italy. They raised their family here, and my grandparents went on to raise my dad and uncle in the same home. After I was born, my parents bought a house on the same street, so I spent many afternoons at my grandfather’s house after school. After my pop passed, my dad decided to sell the house, but I couldn’t imagine anyone else living here. I purchased the home in 2017 and did a complete remodel, which included renovating and finishing the large basement. It will be a perfect playroom!

Your baby’s nursery will be close to my bedroom and has plenty of natural light. This room was also my room when I stayed at my grandparents as a child. I look forward to making so many more memories in this house.

My neighborhood is very safe and filled with families, schools and parks. All my neighbors know each other by name and you can often find everyone outside talking when the weather is nice. Living in the city, my home is close to museums and historical landmarks as well as sports arenas and events. I can’t wait to take a little one to their first ball game or Disney On Ice (one of my family’s many yearly traditions). I feel so fortunate that my family and I have a second home at the New Jersey shore. We love having family BBQs, beach days and nights spent playing games and watching movies. The gated community is full of things to do and kids to play with.

Racial & Cultural Diversity

I grew up in a very diverse school setting with kids from all different backgrounds. Living in a large city exposed me to many different cultures and helped me embrace people’s differences.

I come from a family of immigrants from all over Europe including Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, England and the Ukraine. I spent my thirties traveling to these places to see where my family came from. I think knowing your background is very important. I will expose your child their heritage so they can know their background as well.

My Family & Friends

Family is very important to me. I am close with my parents and see them several times a week. They are so excited to become grandparents for the first time. I can’t wait to see them show a little one the same unconditional love and support they have shown me throughout my life. My sister Gina has been a teacher for 20 years. She loves working with kids of all ages and has so much passion. Being almost five years older than me, she has been my go-to person for advice and guidance. She can’t wait to take on the title of “Fun Aunt Gina.”

My friends have been a part of my life since I was a little girl. All their kids call me “Aunt DeDe” and I know they can’t wait to be aunts to a new little one.I have a wonderful relationship with all of their children and we are often together on weekends – whether it’s a fun night playing games, a day at the beach, seeing Disney on Ice, a dance recital or a baseball game. We all try to be there for each other as much as we can, and I know they will be an active part in cheering on a child as they grow.

Frank and Michelle along with my two godchildren Frankie and Julie will be a constant in this child’s life. Frankie can’t wait to teach his little cousin how to play sports and Julia is ready to lend a helping hand at any time. Uncle Frank and Aunt Michelle will be a constant in this child’s life as we spend a lot of time at the beach with each other (we have houses in the same development at the beach) and live very close to each other in the city.

Uncle Bill and Uncle Eddie can’t wait to share their love of sports and the summer with a little one. Eddie has been in my life since I was 14 years old, he is one of my best friends and can’t wait to teach a little one how to ice skate. Bill is an important part of my family. He will be a big part in this child’s life, teaching them how to play ball, jump waves and build sandcastles. Both men will be there to watch this child grow and cheer them on with me – help them grow and encourage them throughout their lives.

Last but not least, my dog Kacy came into my life in April 2020 and Bailey followed in December 2021. Both are rescue pups and the sweetest little ladies, always giving kisses and cuddling. They love playing catch and running around with my friend’s kids. They can’t wait to be a big sister and grow up right alongside a little one.

Family Traditions

Every year, my family takes an annual trip to Disney World. A few years ago, I even made a quick trip to surprise my godchildren for a few days. It was so much fun experiencing the magic of Disney through their eyes. I look forward to taking your little one to Disney and
making even more memories.

Every summer, I head to the beach with my family and spend a lot of time with loved ones and friends, playing in the sand, walking the boardwalk, playing games, and enjoying time together.

I am fortunate to come from a decent-sized family; some of my favorite memories include my aunts, uncles and cousins. Birthdays are celebrated with everyone’s favorite meal, birthday cake, and laughter. Holidays are always filled with love, laughter and an abundance of food. On Christmas, you can always find us looking at all the Christmas lights together, visiting Cape May for the Christmas parade and meeting Santa at the Christmas village in the city. Every year, we also have a family Pollyanna party and spend New Year’s Eve celebrating with our family and friends.

Sundays are for family dinner with my parents and sister – and any other family who drops by. My mom always cooks for a lot of people. I would love to hear about your family traditions if you would like to share them to include them in this child’s life as they grow.
