We know meeting like this isn’t easy, but we appreciate your time and admire your strength. Thank you for reading this.

We are Jared and Alyssa. We feel fortunate to have found each other and nothing would make us happier than to share our home with children. Being parents would be the greatest gift we could ever receive. In return, we could provide a child with unconditional love and a safe home filled with joy and kindness.

We understand that this is a serious decision for you. The choice you may make will not be easy, but we want you to know that if you choose us, your baby will be loved and cared for every moment of every day. We would be honored to carry on your selfless act, by helping your child grow into exactly who they are meant to be. If you decide to consider us, we’d like to know about you. What is important to you? How do you envision your child’s life?

Being open and honest about adoption is really important to us, because who you are and who you will become will always matter to your baby. We want you to know that if you choose us, you will always be honored in our home. The relationship between you and your child will forever be cherished. We could start with photos of you framed in their room and we’ll all be part of the family tree mural painted on the wall. Together we can provide opportunities for them to grow, explore, and learn about who they are and the world they live in. We hope to instill a sense of curiosity and appreciation for all the things this world can offer, and your love and strength will be an integral part of that.

Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

We’ve had seven miscarriages, and although it has been a tough journey so far, we are so excited now to be potential parents through adoption. Our journey has given us time to reflect on how important raising a family is to us both. We couldn’t be more ready for this!

We will teach our children to be compassionate and responsible people. We’ll teach them how to balance school, activities, and time with family and friends. We will teach them to not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help.

Lifestyle

We enjoy being at home with our fur babies. Backyard BBQs, swimming, and gardening are our favorite things to do at home. We enjoy doing puzzles, playing board games and video games, building Legos, and watching movies.

We also love exploring our town including trying new restaurants, going to outdoor concerts in the park, going on hikes with Maya, fishing, and picking fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers at our local farms.

Fun Facts

• We met at the gym. One of our first dates was a 5k obstacle course (Wipe Out!) run.
• We are working on learning how to speak Italian so we can go to Italy someday.
• We had lizards and scorpions as pets when we were younger.
• We want to take our travel trailer cross-country.
• We are restoring a classic Ford mustang in our garage.

About Jared by Alyssa

Jared is the most reliable, loving, and accepting person I know! He loves to make people laugh, and he makes me smile every day.

My nephew has special needs and since the day he met Jared, he instantly understood how safe he was with him and always wanted to be by his side. Their favorite thing to do together is play video games. Jared is so calm and patient with my nephew. He even used to call out for Jared if he woke up in the middle of the night at his own home.

About Alyssa by Jared

Alyssa is the kindest, most loving and gentle person that I know. She has so much empathy for other people. She is the highlight of my day.

Alyssa inspires me to be a better person.  She deeply cares about her family. She puts a smile on my face everyday, whether she does something to make me laugh or simply by being her kind, beautiful, and caring self.

Our Home

Our town started as a farming community and still has many working farms with fruits and vegetables that we get to pick fresh every year. Almost every day, we walk Maya our dog in our neighborhood. There are so many neighborhood parks and playgrounds here. At home, we enjoy barbequing and swimming in our pool. We have a big backyard and hope to put up a swing set down the road. We’re making slow but steady progress on restoring a classic Ford Mustang in the garage. Alyssa volunteers every week providing meals to senior citizens in the community.

Our Family

Alyssa: My parents taught my brothers and me to work hard and seek out what makes us happy. They taught us to look out for each other and that was evident throughout my whole family. I have a large extended family on both my mom’s and dad’s side, and my cousins are some of my best friends. One of them has 2 children by adoption and they live right down the road.

I consider my best friend to be family as well, and I am proud to be the godmother of her daughter.

Jared: My parents instilled a work ethic in me that has helped me get the career that I have today. As the oldest brother, my parents would rely on me to get things done around the house and to help out my 3 younger brothers. I was always encouraged to be curious and ask questions. My family, my friends, and I know that we can rely on each other for anything, anytime. My brothers still come to me for advice.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

I (Alyssa) am biracial. It is something I am proud of as well something that has presented challenges when growing up. Being able to share that experience with a child along with learning about their heritage and others is something we are both ready to do. Our families include members who are Caucasian, Pacific Islander, Asian, and Latino.

Our Pets

Our dog Maya is 11 and our cats Chief and Gus are 4 and 3. Maya loves playing fetch for treats—she gets to do this every morning and evening! Gus loves chasing bugs outside and Chief loves to eat and get cuddles.

Traditions

Our families celebrate every major holiday together. We usually rotate who will be hosting and everyone signs up to bring a dish so we have a giant pot luck party. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, Alyssa makes her nana’s delicious pie recipes. During Christmas, one person will dress up as Santa Claus and pass out gifts to the children. We have an Easter egg hunt every year for the kids, and there’s even an adult egg hunt with riddles to solve to win prizes.

We both grew up camping and fishing at the beach or lake every summer. We would go water skiing and tubing, and build campfires and make s’mores. If your baby becomes part of our family, they will go on these summer adventures with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who are so excited to know them and make these memories with them!
