From Us to You

We are so thankful that you are considering us to raise your child. We admire your bravery and do not take it lightly the trust you are putting in us to raise him or her and thank you from the bottom of our heart. There are so many things we cannot wait to share with them. From the little things like helping us cook to all the big milestones in life. We have so much love to give and will raise this baby in a home that is kind, generous, and encouraging. We feel that is important that he or she knows where they come from and who their mother is. The last thing we want is for their mom to be a mystery to them and we hope to make you a part of their lives as long as its what you want as well.

We look forward to getting to know you and discussing a long-term relationship with you and your baby. They will know they are loved, not just by their adoptive parents, but also by their birth mother.

Why We are Choosing to Adopt

Growing up, Sarah always dreamed of having a big family that included both biological and adopted children. With an adopted sister, adopted cousins, and close family friends who grew their families through adoption, she saw firsthand how meaningful it is to open your home and your heart to someone not connected by blood. She also grew up in a blended family with step- and half-siblings, so welcoming others into the family, regardless of biology, has always felt natural. After learning she was unable to have biological children, Sarah felt more certain than ever that adoption was the right path. When we got married, we were both excited to discover how aligned we felt about growing our family this way. Tylor has always supported and encouraged our decision to pursue adoption, and we are thrilled to be on this journey together.

Lifestyle

We are always looking for a new adventure. We love exploring new events and spaces in near-by Seattle and Tacoma, including going to all the near by zoos and aquariums. On sunny weekends, we enjoy finding new hikes and beaches to explore with family, friends, and our dog. Sundays are often found having dinner with one or both of our parents and playing games. We are a big game family, everything from playing card games, to Dungeons & Dragons, to rounds of corn hole in my parent’s backyard. We also love to travel. We have family and friends all over the country to visit, and like to get as many stamps in our passport. We can’t wait to have an addition to join us on our adventures.

We are both passionate about food; everything from cooking and baking at home, to trying new restaurants in the area. We love trying new recipes and sharing what we made with family and friends. I hope your child will be a little foodie like us!

When we aren’t eating, we love taking long walks in the woods and on the beach, and eating lots of ice cream.

About Sarah By Tylor

I think the best thing about Sarah is her heart. She has a huge family and tries to connect with all of them and really cares about them all deeply. I love how she helps balance my ideas and projects. Keeping me grounded but never saying it’s a bad idea. She’s a person that I can spend every day with doing nothing but still feeling like we are together doing great things. I know she is going to be an amazing mom and encourage our child to get out there and do great things just like she does for me.

About Tylor By Sarah

Tylor is very kind and generous. He has a loving heart and children adore him. The first time he met my best friends, he ended up playing with their 4 children for a few hours and won us all over! He is very creative and always wanting to try something new. I can’t wait to see him pass on his creativity and curiosity to children. Really, he is just a big kid at heart. Tylor will always be the number 1 fan for those he loves and will nothing ever happen to them.

Our Home

We currently live in Federal Way, Washington which has the convenience of being right in between Seattle and Tacoma (about 30 min in either direction). We have owned our home for about 2 years and was made to have a family. Our street has a park just down the way with a big grassy area and 2 play grounds. Behind our home is a beautiful green belt and we love to watch the trees change with the seasons.

In various cities around us, the summers have farmers markets and weekly concerts that are so much fun to attend. There is are several large outdoor venues with great concerts each summer. We generally try to attend one. We are very close to the Puget Sound which is great for days running around on the beach barefoot, hiking, kayaking, spotting seals and even some whale watching. Being in Washington, the mountains are everywhere, great for every level of hiking a person could ask for.

Our Family

Together, we have a very large family with 7 future grandparents, and too many future aunts & uncles to count! Four of our parents are in Washington near us and we see them weekly. Our family is so excited for our adoption process and can’t wait to provide a supportive community as we start the next chapter in our family. Sarah’s youngest sister was adopted when she was 1 1/2 from China. She is so excited that we want to also adopt! We see our local family in some part every week, sometimes its just a dinner, sometimes its a spending the whole day doing fun events in Washington like hiking or art festivals. For the farther away family we have a constant text chain just to see how everyone is doing. It’s admittedly tougher to see them but we always have a plan going for trips to visit each other.

Racial & Cultural Diversity

We believe that all races and cultures deserve respect and celebration. If we adopt a child that is of another race or culture, we are excited to learn about their heritage with them and incorporate new traditions into our child’s life, especially if their background is important to their birth mother. As we get to know the birth mother, we want to learn their background and what is important to them to pass on. We also want to know special names that could be included as a first and/or middle name. We would love to learn new cooking methods and new recipes they can grow up eating, just as their parents and grandparents did.

Our Pets

We love our pets and probably 90% of our photo rolls are of them. We always joke that our pets are funny sizes with Zoey being a 6lb barn cat, Clover is a 10lb “tall” chihuahua and Odi is a 13lb floof cat. Sarah brought Clover into the relationship and Tylor came with 2 cats but they are all the sweetest animals you could meet and we are excited to have them watch over our family.

Traditions

We are still developing our own family traditions, but one thing we already love is baking together, especially decorating cakes and making family recipes for birthdays and holidays. Celebrating each other and making those days feel special is something we really value. One tradition we never miss is watching as many Christmas movies as possible between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Once a child is in our home, we can’t wait to bring the magic of Santa to life and share more of the traditions we loved growing up. We’d also love to learn about the cultural or personal traditions that are meaningful to you and your family and, if you’re open to it, find ways to honor and incorporate them into our own.

If chosen, your child will grow up knowing an abundance of love and kindness. We aim to nurture that in them and to fill their life with joy, stability, and a deep sense of belonging.

We promise to love your baby as our own. We will honor where they come from by teaching them about their history and the love and courage that brought them into our family. Their story will never be hidden. We will learn and include meaningful traditions from their background to help keep their roots alive and part of our daily life. We will raise them to love all living things and to show kindness, even when it’s hard. Most of all, we are so excited at the thought of getting to know you and your child, and we’re honored to be part of this journey.
