From Us to You

Our deepest desire is to do what is best for your child. We have so much love to give! We are open to building a relationship with you and would love to get to know you better and talk about the level of communication you wish to have. We love texting and Snapchat, Millennials right? Your child will know you love them and gave us such an incredible opportunity and blessing to be in their life. Us, doting grandparents, and fun aunts and uncles — there will be a whole team of support backing them from day one. You will be in our hearts as we watch your baby grow, take their first steps, and color with crayons on our walls. You can be assured your child will grow up in a place of love and laughs and hopefully will have better dance moves than us!

Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

Becoming parents has always been a dream for us. Though we aren’t able to have children naturally, we feel God has called us to grow our family through adoption. We dream of reading bedtime stories with our child, playing outside with them in our backyard, and supporting them through every stage of life – cheering them on, wiping their tears, and celebrating every milestone, ensuring they never feel they have to face anything alone. We are so excited to share all of our love and knowledge. Parenting is an adventure that we believe will fundamentally grow us into better versions of ourselves, teach us so many things, and be a fulfilling part of our future. Our life is good, but a child would fill the missing piece.

Lifestyle

Our life is chill and laid back…unless we are watching hockey or playing video games, then all bets are off! Mornings always begin with coffee, a little cream and A LOT of sugar! Our evenings usually end up with a good book or movie, curled up with our kitties by our fireplace. During the week, we work flexible hours, some days at home, some days in the office. Hanging out with friends and family is an important part of our week, especially over a home cooked meal. However, Friday night pizza is a must! Weekends are often spent on the lake, exploring the town, or occasionally being couch potatoes after a hard week of work. When the weather is nice, we garden, hike, or work on the latest home project. On Sundays we go to church, focus on our family, and rest for the upcoming week.

We can’t wait to push your little one on their swing-set in our fenced-in backyard or laugh as they dress the cats up. Teaching your little one to swim and fish on the lake is an adventure we are so excited to begin! There will definitely be trips to the park, Disney sing-alongs, and a new competitor for family game night. Our cats are going to be so happy to have someone new to cuddle.

Fun Facts

• We love being on the lake and are always down to wake surf!

• Disney is our happy place and we will never pass up an opportunity to hang out with Mickey!
• When the weather cools down, we enjoy making s’mores around our fire pit.

About David by Brooke

Anytime I’m needing a hug or a laugh, David is the first person I run to! He is the most patient, goofy, kind man. He likes to stay in shape by hitting the gym or the hiking trail, but don’t worry, he always brings snacks! When it gets too hot to hike, he likes to show off his skills at the lake wake surfing and is an excellent teacher who never lacks patience.

Constantly thirsting for knowledge, he is frequently consulting YouTube in the process of most home projects, such as when he drew plans and constructed our fireplace/entertainment center by himself… well I handed him the tools! When he isn’t working on a project, you can find him with his nose in a book and a cat on his lap, reading the latest novel to spark his interest. Whether it’s building a tree house or simply a blanket fort, David will get your child involved and make it everything they dream and then some!

About Brooke by David

Brooke is my cheerleader. Everyday when I come home from work, she’s waiting by the front door jumping up and down excited to see me. Her heart is kind and she shows it through her acts of love. Whether it’s preparing coffee each morning or doing laundry, she always seems to know exactly how I like it and goes out of her way to make it that way with a smile on her face. When I’m busy she is still present, she’ll grab a book or a puzzle and just be there in the room while I work. Brooke is a planner and keeps the details of our family structured. My teammate and the other half of my heart…I know that no matter what I face in life, I always have her in my corner and can face whatever life brings my way. For my Birthday, I always wake up to streamers and balloons. When we go out, Brooke points out all the cute babies to me. She gets so excited to cuddle our friend’s baby. Brooke is my ride or die. I get as far as asking “hey do you want…” and she’s already said “yes” and is halfway to the car.

Our Home

Living near the Tennessee mountains, the fall season is beautiful! Our house is located in a quiet community with family minutes away. We spend a good amount of time on our covered patio or in the yard hammocking. We are very excited to add a third hammock! Our favorite room in the house is our basement. With a movie theater, video games, and a home gym, we can’t wait to include your little one as they grow.

Our community hosts several engaging events we never pass up. From Fun Fest with its endless food trucks and great music, to driving around in the local NASCAR Speedway seeing its Christmas lights, back to the fair with exciting rides and funnel cake! We can’t wait to see your child’s eyes sparkle in all the excitement.

Our Faith

God changed our lives. He has given us so much love, purpose, and blessings. We love learning more about Him, going to church, and reading His word. He has adopted us as His children and loved us unconditionally and we desire to pour the same love into our child. We believe He has clearly shown us to pursue adoption and are so excited to see what He has in store for us and our family.

Our Family

Brooke: My side of the family is very active and adventuresome. When we hang out, we are on the go! My dad is a child at heart, while my mom brings along the Disney magic. My siblings add the spice of life and the competitive spirit…there has to be a winner! Though life gets busy, we never miss a Christmas together.

David: My family loves quality time. Mom will never let you leave without a good home cooked meal and my father can drop the mic with his dad jokes. My three sisters have the craziest stories and always know a good movie to kick off family movie night. We have our rowdy moments. Our Fourth of July celebration always goes out with a BANG!

Racial and Cultural Diversity

We have a heart for all children and believe God created all people. We are committed to loving all people no matter how similar or different to us they may be. If the family we match with has different racial or cultural backgrounds, we are willing to learn and share this with your child. Good things in life often require continual learning and effort to achieve. We are prepared to do whatever is necessary to help your child develop and appreciate their unique identity. Our love for your child is endless and unconditional. Our goal is to provide your child with the opportunities to discover who they are, where they come from, and to support them fully in this process.

Traditions

Our biggest family traditions are centered around the Fourth of July and Christmas. The fourth of July starts with us buying a wide variety of fireworks to shoot off at David’s parents’ house. We grill chicken and corn for the entire family. After dinner, we shoot off fireworks until late in the evening.

For Christmas, we go to a Christmas tree farm and cut down our own tree with the family. We then decorate the tree and the house with ornaments, decor, and lights. Christmas Eve is spent making a large variety of cookies, sitting around the tree with family, and reading the Christmas story. In the morning, we find matching pajamas outside our door. Once everyone is up, we gather around the tree and open stockings and presents before extended family comes over to celebrate with us. The day after Christmas, the whole family picks an activity to do together. Arcade and go-karts were particularly fun!

Birthdays are also a big celebration in our family. Cake, ice cream, steamers, presents…we go all out! We even have our own special version of ‘Happy Birthday’ we sing. With the whole family coming over to celebrate, it’s always a great time.

Our Pets

Max and Maya, our two cats, make sure there is never a dull moment in our house. Max is the biggest foodie, while Maya is the cuddler. They are our favorite coworkers and best snuggle buddies. While they usually spend the day napping, when awake, they are watching the birds outside from the window or playing with their countless toys. They can’t wait for a new playmate!
