From Us to You

We have come to understand from our education and information seeking about adoption that making an adoption plan is a deeply personal journey. In making a decision like this one we see you as a courageous woman. We will honor your role as this child’s birth mother and that can never change.

We would welcome the opportunity to have an open adoption if that is your wish. This could include updates, photos, and letters as everyone feels comfortable, especially around your child’s birthday! We would also be grateful to learn about your family’s history, traditions, talents, and other meaningful details that could help your child stay connected to their heritage and better understand where they come from.

Our plan is to raise your child in a loving and nurturing environment, teaching them about our faith and helping them develop a relationship with God as well as having supportive connections with their grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Our intention is to model our work ethic and contribution to our local community with activities, for example, helping with fundraisers, aiding a neighbor in need and learning about varied vocations and traits.

We just cannot wait to share our life experience with this child as they grow! We are also aware that we will need to leave space for us to learn and grow as parents and we very much look forward to this blessing of an endeavor.

Why We are Choosing to Adopt

We are adopting because we are excited to grow our family! After three years of trying to conceive, we chose not to pursue fertility treatments. Instead, we felt adoption was the right way for us to become parents. We know that making an adoption plan is a deeply personal decision, and we would be honored to be considered as you explore what feels right for you and your child. We have always dreamed of getting married and raising a child together, and now we are excited for that dream to become a reality!

Lifestyle

We both enjoy spending time outdoors whenever we’re not working. We love rising early and stepping outside to walk along the quiet country roads near our home! Ronald gets up much earlier than Rebecca and heads into the state forest for a run a few mornings each week. Rebecca looks forward to taking your child on walks while Ronald is out running. Ronald works longer hours outside the home, but Rebecca plans to be a stay-at-home mom while caring for our home and family. Rebecca’s mother is retiring this year and can’t wait to become “Grammy” to your child. She is looking forward to helping care for your child, especially during the few hours each week that Rebecca works from home providing telehealth therapy for clients.

On weekends, we enjoy gardening, keeping up the yard, tackling projects around the house, and identifying the wildlife that passed through our yard overnight. We look for tracks and other signs of animal activity, make our guesses (and sometimes bets!), then check the trail camera to see who was right! On Sundays, we walk to church, which is just a short distance from our home. Rebecca’s mother meets us there too! Rebecca enjoys cooking wholesome meals from scratch, continuing her family’s tradition of gathering for Sunday dinner. As your child grows, they will enjoy helping Rebecca in the kitchen and learning how to cook alongside her.

We love hiking local trails, especially in New England’s White Mountain region. There are forty-eight 4,000-foot mountains, and we’ve hiked about half of them! Each summer and fall, we choose a few more to explore. Someday we hope to travel to Europe to experience its history, museums, culture, and hiking, especially in countries like Germany. We also enjoy learning about the history of our country and our town, where our home was built around 1750. We are slowly renovating it while preserving its original character
and history!

About Rebecca by Ronald

Rebecca is my best friend. I can talk to her about anything, and one of her greatest qualities is her caring and motherly nature. She is the Director of Religious Education at the church we attend and works closely with second graders. They all love her, as do their parents. She often comes home after teaching with happy stories to share over breakfast. I can see a glow about her when she talks about them, and it is clear how much she loves spending time with them. One of the things I admire most about Rebecca is the way she cares for me, our family, and our friends. She always seems to find time to support the people she loves while staying engaged in church, her therapy practice, and other activities, all while remaining disciplined about her schedule and personal health. I’m not sure how she does it sometimes. She is an amazing woman!

About Ronald by Rebecca

One of my favorite things about Ronald is how reliable he is. He is always there when I need him, and I know that same dependability will make him an incredible father. He also has a wonderfully goofy sense of humor. I remember when we first started dating over 20 years ago, he would entertain my youngest sister, who was only four or five at the time. They would tell each other corny jokes and giggle together. Whenever I walked into the room, they would say, “We’re just talking about the weather…” because they didn’t want to share their jokes with me. It’s such a sweet memory of Ronald becoming part of my family. Ronald also loves animals, from wildlife to our two happy, content kitties! He is also a dedicated cat dad to them both!

Our Home

We love our town and where we live. Just moments from our home is a beautiful state forest, and our antique house is near at least six trailheads! Spending time there gives us a chance to clear our heads after a busy day while enjoying nature through birding and spotting wildlife, including beavers, deer, bobcats, and even mountain lion tracks! Rebecca enjoys collecting porcelain unicorns and cats, and Ronald loves teasing her about the collection while surprising her with a new piece from time to time. The cat figurines are displayed on the mantel in our parlor, reflecting our love for cats! Living in New England allows us to enjoy all four seasons outdoors. We walk, run, and hike year-round on the nearby trails. We also keep a natural field on our property for the wildlife and love watching what passes through each season, from turkey families and gray foxes to deer and many other visitors. Living on a quiet main street, we’re able to walk to the post office, library, church, and general store. It’s a friendly town where neighbors know one another, and we feel grateful to call it home.

Our Family

We value quality time with our families, which often means gathering for tea and cake or sharing a meal to celebrate birthdays and special milestones! Ronald has five nieces and nephews, while Rebecca has eleven. Rebecca is especially close with her three sisters. Every Friday, she meets one sister to walk and catch up while waiting for her two youngest boys to get off the school bus. Then they head inside to hear about the boys’ week, enjoy a snack, play a game, or see which YouTube influencer they’re excited about now—usually someone doing electrical experiments or teaching new Minecraft tricks. Another sister has a mini farm with chickens and three large dogs. They enjoy taking the dogs on nature hikes or visiting local farmers markets and craft fairs together. Rebecca, her sisters, and her mother also enjoy girls’ nights with games, movies, and shared meals or Saturday breakfasts over coffee, catching up and supporting one another. We also share plants from our gardens, and since all three of Rebecca’s sisters are artists, they always have a creative project to show us.

Racial & Cultural Diversity

We live nearby several culturally diverse communities throughout New England. We enjoy exploring new places and look forward to intentionally seeking opportunities for our child to experience different cultures through museums, festivals, sporting events, theater, community events, and other educational experiences. We are committed to helping our child appreciate, celebrate, and learn from the diversity of the world around them.

Our Faith

We are a practicing Roman Catholic couple. We attend Mass weekly in our town—we even get to walk to church each Sunday! Our weekly attendance at Mass brings us closer as a couple and connects us with a kind and supportive community of faith. Rebecca serves as the Director of Religious Education and teaches Catechism at our local parish, while Ronald helps maintain the church grounds. We love doing our part to help make our church a beautiful place for everyone to enjoy!

Our Commitment

What we share with our child about their birth mother will be guided by conversations between us and their birth mother. Our adoption education has helped us understand the importance of our child learning about their heritage so they can develop a strong, healthy sense of identity and grow up knowing their story.

Favorite Traditions

Rebecca’s family has a cherished tradition of heading to New Hampshire each Memorial Day weekend to open the family summer cottage. Nestled in the White Mountains near several state parks, it’s the perfect place for hiking, swimming, fishing, and camping. We enjoy campfires, cooking together, swimming in a nearby brook and pristine lake, and stopping by the local ice cream shop! The cottage is always a work in progress, so maintaining it has become part of the tradition too, from refinishing the back deck to caring for the yard and gardens. Since it’s close to Vermont, we also enjoy day trips to places like Clark’s Bears to watch trained black bears perform tricks, along with quieter nature destinations.

We also have a hiking book called Hiking with Dogs, which rates trails from one paw (easy) to four paws (difficult). The family enjoys choosing hikes together, and Rebecca’s sister often brings her Golden Retrievers along to explore the trails. Our siblings take turns hosting holiday gatherings like Christmas and Thanksgiving, but we host Halloween every year. Rebecca loves dressing up as a different character each year (a mummy, woodland deer, or Black Widow Spider Queen!) before making a big batch of spaghetti and meatballs and dessert for the family to enjoy together. Our town even closes the road so children can trick-or-treat safely. We know including a child in these traditions will bring so much joy to all of our lives.

Our Pets

We have two cats: We recently adopted an 8-week-old kitten named Ameila. She is learning the ropes and has bundles of energy! Our 4-year-old cat named Ginger is setting the boundaries with the new kitten and likes having a “sister” to train.

Our Promise to You

We are ready to make our child the center of our world! Having our lives revolve around a beloved child would be a dream come true. We look forward to sharing our faith, family values, and strong work ethic while helping them always know they are loved, accepted, and can come to us with anything. Rebecca looks forward to sharing everyday moments like cooking, gardening, and helping your child grow in confidence, self-understanding, and faith. Ronald can’t wait to be a father and share his knowledge, experiences, and love with your child. Our greatest priority will always be raising your child with love and compassion.

We also look forward to teaching your child about the outdoors, showing compassion to others, and the importance of making kind and thoughtful choices. They will grow up in a loving home and always have the love, support, guidance, and encouragement of both us and our extended family, just as we were blessed to have growing up.

We hope to raise your child with compassion and understanding, creating a home where they feel loved, supported, and free to grow into who they are.
