Q: Tell us about your home and neighborhood.
A: We live in a very family-friendly neighborhood. There are lots of children playing outside as well as regular community activities to take part in. It is very safe and welcoming as well. Our home is full of love with plenty of space to play, inside and out. We have enough rooms for everyone to have their own, as well as a separate playroom.
Q: When you have a 3-day weekend, what you like to do?
A: When we have extra time on the weekends, we love to spend it with family and friends. We will often take a trip to the beach or have others come to our house for a nice BBQ. There are also events in our neighborhood which we will attend when we want to stick closer to home. Either way, we love enjoying our time together as a family and cherish every minute!
Q: Do you have pets? If so, tell us about them.
A: We have one pug named Penny. She is 3-years-old and is very loving and playful with our son, who is also 3-years-old. They love to play outside in the sprinklers together and we all love taking walks or just cuddling inside as a family. She is a part of everything we do, an equal member of the family. We feel it is very important to teach the lesson that all life is valuable and we should love and respect our pets just as we would other human beings.
Q: What do you hope to teach your child(ren)?
A: We want to teach them, above all else, to be loving and caring to everyone they meet. Be compassionate and kind and treat others with respect. Also, you will live a very happy life if you work hard and treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. It is more important to have love in your heart than any material object.
Q: What will you tell your child about his or her birth mom?
A: She gave us the greatest gift ever, the gift of family! Because of her loving and caring heart, she was able to put your needs above her own, entrusting us to provide the best life possible for you. We will always portray her in the most positive light and loving manner.
Q: Are you active in your church? Tell us about your activities.
A: We are actively involved with the Catholic church, including holidays, sacraments, and we especially love taking part in the ‘Blessing of the Animals’ service each October. A special moment for us was when we baptized our son and we look forward to that event, and the joy it brings, with our next child.
Q: How will a child enrich your life?
A: Our son has opened our heart and soul to see the world in a more loving and innocent way, simple and full of love. Another child will only add to the love we are able to give and receive. Having two children will also be a special blessing, allowing them to share love between themselves for the rest of their lives. We are very excited to continue to build our family!
Q: Describe your last vacation and/or daytrip.
A: We recently traveled to Disneyland and it was truly the happiest place on earth! We made such great memories, not only at the park but on the family road trip there and back as well. It was amazing to witness the wonders and pure happiness through a child’s eyes. It filled our hearts with joy and made us feel like kids again ourselves. We cannot wait to go back and haven’t stopped talking about it since we left.
Q: Will you be a stay-at-home parent? If so, what are your day-to-day plans?
A: Rachel is a stay-at-home mom. She is very active with Andrew and looks forward to having another child join their activities. She looks forward to taking them both to the park, on playdates, bookstore, school, etc. Steve works nearby and is able to take part in activities regularly, including lunches, preschool activities, etc. He will often take an early day off work so we can spend time together as a family, just taking a walk and enjoying the weather on a nice day.
Q: When you close your eyes and see yourself holding your precious baby in your arms, what are your thoughts regarding his or her birth mother?
A: The first, and most important, thought we have is simply, ‘thank you’! Thank you for giving us the most remarkable gift anyone can give, the gift of family. You are an amazing person and we would not have our dream come true if it weren’t for your love and kindness. We will keep you in our hearts forever and give your child the best life possible, in your honor. No words can truly express our gratitude!
