Dear Expectant Mother,
Finding the right words to say is almost impossible. This led us to write this letter from pure honesty and love. With that being said, ‘thank you’ does not even begin to express our gratitude to you, for taking the time to learn more about us. We do not know you, but we hope to. The choice of life, and your consideration of adoption is remarkable and no matter where it takes you, we will always be in awe of you.
We are Austin and Montana and we met at the young age of 15. It was not love at first site. We are high school sweethearts and each other’s best friend. Montana was the shaggy-haired, skater boy, while Austin was the honor-roll cheerleader. We have been together for 10 years now and married for 3.5 years. After 3.5 years of infertility, a miscarriage and 7 failed infertility treatments we knew we were being called towards something else, adoption.
One of our favorite things to do is travel. We may live in Indiana, but we are displaced New Englanders at heart. We also love all things Disney, Harry Potter and of course The Minions. Montana can often be heard quoting movies, especially Harry Potter. Austin is unable to even count how many times she has heard him say “Anything from the trolley?!”
Since we experience all the seasons here in Indiana, our activities are always changing. When it's warm, we are often poolside at Austin’s parents', playing football or enjoying summer or fall festivals. We enjoy playing games and love roasting s'mores over the campfire, and we also love to catch a yearly Red Sox baseball game. Through the winter months, we play in the snow with our dogs, take our yearly Santa photo and enjoy all the holiday spirit our town has to offer.
We recently built our dream home in a new suburban neighborhood. We chose the neighborhood based on the highly rated school district and proximity to Austin’s work. Our four-bedroom home sits on a large corner lot, with a fenced in back yard. We have two rescue dogs named Piper and Brady. They will enjoy the coming years having a child to play with in our backyard. Our city also has much to offer, with continuous festivals, parks and a nationally acclaimed zoo! The zoo pass will be a must for us if we are blessed to adopt a child.
With our close proximity to parents and siblings, there will never be a shortage of family. They are all excited to be first time grandparents, aunts and uncle! They have so many plans to love and nurture your child for years to come.
We plan on being very active in our parenting style with your child. Montana will happily be there for any activity your child would love to do. He is also very excited to coach any little league sport they may have interest in. Austin will be their number one cheerleader, late night homework partner. There are so many "good times" that we look forward to, we are also ready to embrace the chaos. Tears, tantrums, bad days at school and just the journey of life will bring some difficult stages. However, we are ready to embrace all those moments with unconditional love and dedication. We have so much love in our hearts and within our relationship that we can't wait for the day when we get to share that love with a child.
That is the “Cliffnotes” version of us, and who we are as a family. Should you find that connection with us, we would love to know more about you. We hope to raise your child with the values we were taught, but they also will be raised knowing the infinite love you have for them. Most of all, we pray that you find peace and comfort in whichever decision you make on your journey. You will forever be in our hearts and prayers.
