David and I have been truly blessed in our marriage and have a life filled with happiness, fun, and love.  We have been married since 2006 and are so excited about being parents.  Although we have not been able to have a biological child, we know that God has a special child that will become a part of our family.  We already have so much love for the child God has chosen for us, even though we have not met him/her yet!

Where do we begin? What do we say? How do we steady our nerves long enough to write to you; a woman we have never met and yet, have already begun to grow quite fond of? Matthew and I must have written and rewritten your letter a 1000 times. I guess it’s a good thing then that our letter is typewritten, not hand written (imagine the writer’s cramp!) and that paper can be bought by the gross!

When we think about the type of parenting we will provide, we often think back to our own childhood, as well as to the parenting styles of our brothers and sisters.  We admire the strength in holding true to raising kind, curious and happy individuals.  We want to provide a loving and stable environment and support our child in his or her dreams. We want to help instill a strong sense of self in an ever-changing world. And we want our child to know just how much their birthmother loves them.

We know you are about to make the most difficult decisions of your life and I know this is the scariest time of your life as I have been there; I was 19, pregnant and alone. I know how it is to feel that there is no “right” decision. We admire your selflessness and hope this letter makes your decision easier in some little way.

We live in a beautiful and safe neighborhood. We have a big yard with a swimming pool. It is the perfect location for cookouts, which we frequently have during the summer months. Our families live only minutes from us, so everyone comes over a lot. All of our family members are excited about our adoption plan also. They cannot wait for our beautiful new addition to the family.
