From Us to You

While we cannot possibly begin to understand what you are feeling we want you to know that your courage to make this decision is something we admire in the most humbling way. Our paths have crossed for a reason and we are hopeful that it is to walk this journey together. Though we have two children of our own, it is not possible for us to have more. The thought of your daughter completing our family is remarkable and we simply cannot describe the feeling or amount of gratitude we have for you.

Your daughter will be loved and celebrated in countless ways within our family. She will join a family filled with joy and excitement and have two older brothers cheering her on throughout everything she does. She will always be supported and know that her dreams are possible no matter the circumstances. We will honor you and ensure your daughter is loved beyond measure and supported throughout the entirety of her life no matter the circumstances. We promise to share her story with her and never keep you from her. We would love to share this journey together should you wish by staying connected and sharing updates with you often. She will always know that without you we would not have the opportunity to love her and for that, we will forever be grateful.

Beyond our immediate family, your child will gain an abundance of loving family members and friends from all over the country and the world. She will have multiple grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins too. She will also have our most valued friends whom both we and our children love beyond measure.

Each and every day of your child’s life will be filled with love, laughter, patience, and trust. She will learn, grow, and be encouraged every step of the way. She will join our family in making memories both at home and with friends and family through countless experiences and joy. We are excited to see who she grows to become and what her hopes and dreams are so we can encourage and support her along the way. She will always know that no matter what she is loved, her life is full of possibility, and her dreams are achievable.

Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

We chose our journey to adopt as a way to complete our family. Having a daughter is a dream we have had since starting our family. The joy a daughter would bring to this home is simply unexplainable. We believe that love is what makes a family and adopting enables our dream to become a reality. We have been blessed with two boys of our own and after a traumatic and life-threatening experience with the birth of our youngest, we are unable to conceive anymore. It is a godsend for all of us that we are able to take this journey of adoption to bring a girl into this family. Our children are over the moon excited to add a sister to the mix and are equally excited for this process.

About Elisa, by Brandon

Elisa is the quarterback of our team. She is incredibly driven and organized which keeps our family on track and always pushing our limits to better ourselves. Her love and devotion towards our family and friends is incomparable. She truly wants everyone around her to have their best quality of life and live up to their full potential. Being the only woman in a house full of boys causes challenges of its own and she would excel with a little girl in her corner. She spends countless hours in the kitchen baking family recipes that have been passed down throughout the generations. Although the boys and I enjoy eating the delicious creations, I’m confident that she wants to pass those down to future generations. Your little girl would be the final piece of our family puzzle and would be the best sidekick we could ask for.

Brandon is the most incredible partner I could have dreamed of. His fun loving attitude and spontaneity are what keep our family filled with joy and laughter. He is supportive in the most kindhearted ways and always puts our family first. Supporting dreams and encouraging both myself and our boys to always go for it when it comes to chasing our dreams is just one of the many things we love and adore about him. He is always down for adventure and loves teaching new things to our boys whether it be hunting, cooking or trying something new. He has a huge heart and an even bigger personality that shines through in everything he does. Having a daughter will fulfill him in the sweetest way and I know he will treat her with the same love and tenderness that he shows me and every woman in his life.

Lifestyle

We love the beauty that life in Hawaii brings every day. We are both serving on Active Duty in the Army and are quickly approaching retirement from the service and looking forward to living close to family again. Although we are both on Active Duty, Brandon’s work keeps him home and Elisa’s duties have short periods of sailing from time to time enabling our children to maintain their routines and stability. You can often find us outside enjoying all the island has to offer culturally whether it be hiking, finding a new beach to play at, or making new friends at different parks around town. Our Shihpoo dog Chewbacca loves people and is always up for an adventure. We love grilling and spending time with our neighbors on weekends and holidays, taking advantage of the amazing weather and close-knit community our neighborhood has brought us.

Home & Neighborhood

Our home is in a quiet neighborhood nestled on a hill that enables both our children to attend the best schools possible that are also within walking distance. There are multiple playgrounds that are both clean and safe just a few houses away. Just up the road, we have walking trails and public parks that we visit often and enjoy with our boys too. Our neighbors have come from all over the country. We love to have picnics and barbeques with everyone bringing different dishes to share.

Our Families & Friends

We would not be where we are today without the love and support of our friends and families. Though we are from different parts of the country, our families are very involved and make a concerted effort to remain connected despite not being close by. With frequent visits and trips back to the mainland we maintain closeness. Our friends have become our family and without them our family would not be the same. Our dearest friends are like parents to our boys as with us to their children as well. They encourage and support our children like their own and are just as excited about this journey as we are to add a little girl into this family.

Family Traditions

Traditions are very important to us. With our families being from different parts of the country we have plenty of traditions we have brought into our family. Brandon is happiest when all the Christmas decorations are out and looks forward to the season every year. His holidays were celebrated with the men cooking a huge meal for everyone to enjoy.

Elisa grew up with her entire family living in the same town, many of which were on the same street. This made holidays and celebrations filled with activity, family, and friends leaving lasting memories and even more traditions. Christmas and Easter were the biggest celebrations though Thanksgiving is her favorite.

We love celebrating whether it be for a birthday, Chewbacca’s name day on May the Fourth, or even someone’s good news.

Racial & Cultural Diversity

We both serve in the military and there is no shortage of diversity in our lives. We love to learn new things about the different cultures of people we work with and live around. Celebrating diversity and the things that make us who we are is something we are proud of. Loving others for who they are and what makes them unique is part of our core values. Living among different cultures and in different places around the country have taught us that though we may have things that make us different, we all can learn from one another and that our differences should be celebrated not criticized. We are thankful for the opportunities we have had to learn and grow and experience diversity both in our families and in our careers.
