From One Mother to Another

Dear Expectant Mother- I am a birth mother who chose Rodrigo and Kremy in January, 2022 but sadly the pregnancy took a turn for the worst in March, and we lost the baby.

As a 37-year-old mother, I can state this with absolute certainty and life experience— there is not a couple I have ever met that is more deserving of this gift.

I asked them very tough questions over the last few months and with every answer, my decision felt more than right that they were the perfect parents for my baby.

If I could give them 10 babies, I would. They will cherish and love every inch of your baby and will never take this gift for granted.

They will allow you to lead the way and choose how you want the adoption to be, whether open or closed. They will respect every wish you have surrounding the adoption.

They were not going to be just adoptive parents to me, they were going to be family. They are open-minded, loving, caring, stable, healthy, active, and VERY ready to be parents.

Your baby will have many life experiences that most children are not afforded. Your baby will learn other languages which will provide many opportunities in life for your baby.

Your baby will get to live the life they want to live and be who they want to be, which is rare in today’s parenting.

Whether you are a young mom or an older mom like myself, I want you to have peace of mind knowing you are making the right decision with this couple.

I am not a biased family member providing a referral.  I am one of you. So, from one mother to another, please bless this couple with the gift of life.

Our Story and Path to Adoption

We met in early 2009 while bowling with friends at a bowling alley. Our relationship started as a friendship, and three months later it grew into a more affectionate love. We got married in late 2010, and it is now a binding marriage.

Early in our relationship, Kremy shared with Rodrigo that she was adopted as a newborn, and that she wanted to someday adopt and give a child the same love and devotion that she was raised with by her parents and family. Rodrigo’s love and desire to build a family and his understanding that adoption is an act of unconditional love made our decision easy.

Looking forward to building a family, we soon found out that we had infertility challenges as a couple. We worked on infertility with lots of faith and a positive attitude for years, with no success; it took time and energy, but our love for each other grew stronger.

We both dream of being parents and having a happy family! It would be a blessing and fortunate to make our family complete through the gift of adoption. Your child will be loved, treasured, and supported throughout their entire life.

We are both very anxious and extremely excited to be on this adoption journey!

About Kremy, by Rodrigo

From Rodrigo:

When I talk about my wife, I am talking about a precious gift that walked into my life in early 2009 and the more I got to know her, the more I admired, respected, and fell in love with her. Kremy is the most generous, loving, and thoughtful person I know. She makes me a better person, and she has motivated me throughout our life together.

Kremy has made me proud so many times during our marriage, but her love and devotion to children, kindness, and caring for people, make me very proud of her every day. She nurtures our two godsons with so much care and love, that I know in my heart she will be an amazing mom! I can imagine how she will play with your child on the playground, climbing the slide and running around with them. I can see her cooking and teaching them our family traditions, crafting Christmas ornaments, and all of us decorating our home for the holidays to look festive and cheerful.

From Kremy:
I, Kremy, love to cook and explore new meal recipes. My mom is a great cook, and she has taught me that love is the best ingredient for cooking a good meal! Growing up, most of my extended family lived in the same neighborhood, and every day was like a holiday for me and my cousins enjoying grandma’s food and playing outside. I was adopted as a newborn and I am an only child, but my cousins are like siblings to me.

I am very lucky and blessed to have had such great parents and extended family who raised me with unlimited love and devotion. Holidays, like Christmas and New Year, always included a feast of food, and were cheerful and loving times. Santa used to visit us with not only one, but two huge sacks of gifts for all the kids. I grew up spoiled and loved by my entire family, and I am very attached to them. My parents have always guided me to explore and develop my abilities with additional activities and summer camps which helped me to discover my love for computers, science, and sports.

About Rodrigo, by Kremy

From Kremy:

Rodrigo is my rock and best friend, and he never ceases to amaze me. He is very responsible, honest, and always smiling. He is compassionate and yet strong and protective!

Early in our relationship, I shared with him that I was adopted as a newborn. Rodrigo’s love for family and his supportive, loving, and happy character helped me to feel even closer to the man I was falling in love with. I felt all the devotion, respect and love he gave me when we moved in together, so I have no doubt that he is the love of my life! He gave me an elegant picture in a frame that states ‘Always kiss me good night,’ and we have not missed a day reconfirming this promise to each other. I see the love and happiness in him every time he plays with our godsons, and the protective and caring attention he gives to them.

It melts my heart imagining how he will be with your child! He will be a wonderful dad, caring and loving, reading your child bedtime stories, tucking them in and always kissing them good night.

Rodrigo’s love for family and his supportive, loving, and happy character makes him the perfect partner to build a family with. A day does not go by without him making me feel loved and lucky.

From Rodrigo
I, Rodrigo, grew up in a cheerful, big, and giving family. Family gatherings were always a lot of fun on the weekends and during the holidays. After school, I used to go to my grandparent’s house and meet my cousins and neighbors, so we could play soccer together. I still enjoy playing soccer with friends.

My family has always been committed to helping children in the community. I have an adopted cousin who I grew up with, and two neighbors’ children who my mom took care of for more than ten years. My parents are very sweet together, they still hold hands and admire each other. They taught me what love, respect, and honesty means, and I will pass these values to my children.

I have learned how to manage responsibilities and goals in life during a part-time office job I took one summer vacation in high school. This job helped me develop my computer skills and a love for finance which are part of my career today. I also enjoy taking on projects at home to make improvements, and I ready to lend a helping hand to friends when they need it.

Our Sweet Puppy

We have a mini goldendoodle puppy. His name is Cooper, and he is a very loving, energetic, smart, and friendly dog. He loves to run with us and enjoys being outdoors and playing together with his favorite toys. Cooper is very friendly; he gives hugs not only to friends and family but also to his dog friends. He loves playing with kids and gets very excited playing with our godsons. He won their hearts from day one and quickly became a favorite play buddy. He enjoys cuddling and giving them warm hugs and kisses too. Cooper is looking forward to a new family member to protect and play with.

Our Family and Friends

Our families are our foundation!

We both grew up very close to our families, and we see them often. We enjoy celebrating holidays and vacations with all of them! Our families come from different parts of the world, and our languages and cultures are all wrapped together with love and support for each other.

Thanks to technology, when our families are away, we talk to them and video chat daily. When Kremy’s mom is not visiting us, they cook together via facetime. The grandparents-to-be are very excited and ready to take the honorable title, and they are ready to spoil and love your little one.

We are always around family and friends. Our friends are family to us, and they have lived and walked next to us since we first met. Our friends’ children and our godsons can hardly wait for a little special one to join our family and to play with them! Our families enrich our life with positive energy and love. Our families are ready to celebrate birthdays and holidays together and express all the love they have for your child!

Our Home and Neighborhood

We are blessed to have a beautiful and love-filled home. Our house is full of love, laughter, lots of friends, soccer, and music! We enjoy having family and friends gather around to enjoy Kremena’ s good food and our Brazilian BBQ. Our cheerful home is waiting for a special child to make it complete and fill it with toys. Outside, we have a spacious backyard to play and run freely. Our godsons and our friends’ children love playing there and swinging in the hammock. We all appreciate resting in the hammock in the shade on a beautiful, sunny day. We are blessed to have a beautiful home, full of joy, smiles, and homemade food. We cannot wait to fill our hearts and home with a special little one.

We live in a quiet, family-oriented neighborhood. Our neighbors are kind, and we help each other. We are a block away from an open mall with shops, restaurants, and a farmers’ market where we shop local produce. Right in front of our neighborhood is a big park with a kids’ playground, two soccer fields, sports courts, and a daycare next to it. Across the road is our club house with many amenities, swimming pools, a small library, and a kids’ activities club. We love the Halloween party and hunting for Easter eggs there with our godsons. Our friends and our godsons always join us at summer-end party in the community club, city fairs and Christmas events. We are eager to take your child to all these places and events and to see the smile and wonder in their eyes will mean the world to us.

Our Lifestyle and Faith

We enjoy being active! Happily, the beaches are just a 15-minute drive from our home. Our families visit us often and the Disney World parks in Orlando are absolutely on the schedule. Like us, our entire family loves Disney and the Magic Kingdom. Also, every year, we get the summer pass to visit the Safari, the Zoo and the Aquarium, and love to get splashed by the dolphins there. Our friends say that we are grown-ups, but we keep the child alive within us. There is so much to show to your little one here and to enjoy all these places with them!

We cherish family and friends’ gatherings, barbecues, and holidays! We like being outdoors and enjoy playing badminton and soccer, jogging, and going to the beautiful beaches nearby. At the same time, we also appreciate little things like taking a walk, coffee dates, cozy rainy days, a good movie and reading a nice book at home.

Another passion we share is to experience new places through food and activities, even if it is just a weekend away to a local spot to get out of the city. Luckily, in Florida short road trips can take us to hidden paradises and small fishing towns. During our last 3-day weekend we spent a day in the Kennedy Space center, and we drove back on the west coast of Florida and enjoyed time at St. Petersburg, Naples, and few small fishing towns, where we got fresh fish for lunch.

We attend church every Sundays and Holidays. We believe that our faith keeps us close to our roots and gives us strength and courage. We like to pray at home to ourselves, and to learn and grow in our faith. We plan to share our faith and values with your child.

We are looking forward to having a happy and healthy lifestyle for your child, and teaching them the great values of love, faith, and family!

Our Family Traditions and Languages

We love family traditions and celebrate holiday events with our family, friends, and our godsons. We love taking our godsons to egg hunt during Easter and go shopping for Christmas presents for them and our family and friends. Kremena loves Christmas, and we decorate our home with sparkling lights, ornaments, and a beautiful Christmas tree with the help of our puppy Cooper. We place all the presents under the Christmas tree, and on Christmas Eve we gather our family and friends to exchange gifts, sing carols, and share a festive meal. Our godsons love looking for presents with their names on them under the Christmas tree.

One of the traditions we hold dear is Thanksgiving. It is a time for us to express gratitude for the blessings in our lives and to come together as a family. We gather with friends for a delicious feast with roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. Before the meal, we take turns sharing what we are thankful for and expressing our gratitude for the blessings in our lives. It will always be a special and emotional moment for us as a family, as we express our gratitude thinking of you – we will always have you in our hearts.

We also celebrate Halloween, Fourth of July and other cultural traditions with our friends. For example, Saint Patrick’s Day and Cinco de Mayo, and our own cultural traditions – the Brazilian Carnaval, the soccer world cup and the Bulgarian Martenitsa – welcoming the spring.

We would love to know if you have a favorite tradition or special holiday that you would like us to pass on to your child! We will be so happy and honored to celebrate this special event with them!

Languages – We speak four languages – English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Bulgarian. At home, we speak English to each other. But when we have our family and certain friends at home, we speak their languages with them. With our Godsons, we speak Spanish with two of them when they come home for the day, and we speak Portuguese with one of them, and English with our elder Godson. We are so excited to teach our child all these languages, and they will be learning naturally playing with our godsons, their grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins, and friends. Learning different languages improves memory, promotes critical thinking and creativity, and enhances problem-solving and multitasking skills. It will open a world of opportunities to them for personal and professional growth.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

Racial and Cultural diversity is so important and part of our lives. We both came from two different cultures and ethnicities ourselves – South American and European – and we met each other here in the U.S. where we got married and will happily build our family together!

Our friends are from different parts of the world with different races, ethnicities, and cultures. They all proudly carry their own culture – different foods, languages, music (we love Spanish music) and customs. We believe that by honoring and celebrating various cultures and traditions, we can create a sense of belonging, respect, and cultural appreciation in our child’s life.

We are excited and committed to embracing and preserving your child’s heritage, traditions, and cultural background, ensuring they have a strong sense of identity and connection to their roots – yours and your family – and they feel proud of their unique identity.

Vacation and Road Trips

Every year we take two weeks’ vacation during summer and two weeks at the end of the year during Christmas and New Year. We love traveling and taking road trips during a 3-day weekend. We like visiting different states in the U.S. and experiencing different food and culture throughout states, and since we have family abroad, when they are not visiting us, we go visit them in Brazil and Bulgaria.

Our most recent vacation, we spent 2 very festive weeks in Brazil! We celebrated Christmas and New Year with Rodrigo’s family and had a wonderful time! Rodrigo’s family lives in a farm area, and we loved picking vegetables and fruits on the farms! The town is a place with divine nature, great people, and delicious, freshly cooked food! We spent time with Rodrigo’s family, and enjoyed fun, quality time with his aunts, uncles, cousins, many good friends, and neighbors! We had lots of fun visiting the recreational nature park, enjoyed the refreshing water park, and fished in the lake. On this active, exciting, and entertaining vacation, we saved a night for ourselves and had a date downtown! It was the vacation of our dreams to spend this holiday season with Rodrigo’s big family in Brazil.

We cannot wait for 3-day weekends to go on road trips in Florida. We have been so many times to Disney World enjoying and having fun at the Magic Kingdom and the Universal Studios in Orlando. But we also like to drive to small towns in Florida where we can relax, enjoy beautiful beaches, and try different foods. Our last 3-day weekend we spent a day in the Kennedy Space center, and we drove back crossing the state of Florida to the west coast where we spent two days enjoying time in St. Petersburg, Naples, and some small fishing towns until we arrived home.

We desire very much to be parents and to show the world to your child enjoying happy time together and creating beautiful and everlasting memories!

Open Adoption

We believe in the power of an open adoption, should that be your desire. We want you to be a part of your child’s life, to witness their milestones and achievements, and to experience the love and happiness they will bring into this world. Our family will always be an open door, ready to welcome you with open arms.

We will be happy to share with you pictures and videos of all the special moments of your child growing up if you wish for this level of involvement. As you wish, and at your convenience, we will schedule visits with you, and your family, to celebrate and share the love for your child.

We believe that maintaining a healthy and open relationship, built on trust and mutual respect, will be invaluable to your child’s understanding of their roots and the unconditional love that surrounds them.

We will honor your wish to share with them what you feel comfortable with, and we respect your desired level of privacy and involvement. We promise to speak of you with the highest regard and respect.

We are committed to fostering an environment where your child will grow up knowing their unique story, the love that brought them into this world, and the extraordinary sacrifice you made.

What Kind of Parents We Will Be

We will be the happiest and proudest parents ever 😊 We will raise your child by examples of who we are – honest, responsible, respectful, compassionate, caring and family-oriented. We will raise them with a strong foundation of stability, security, and support allowing them to grow and be themselves.

We will be the kind of parents who are caring and supportive, present, vibrant, and open-minded where unconditional love and happiness are the foundation which our family is built. We will teach your child the importance of curiosity, creativity, and the joy of discovery, encouraging their interests and supporting their own talents.

And above all, we will be the kind of parents who:

  • Cannot wait to play games and do activities with them at home, like puzzles and Lego, arts and crafts, play hide-and-seek, make sock puppets, balloon volleyball, board and card games, indoor picnic in our living room, indoor treasure hunt and turn on some music and have a dance party in our living room – We cannot wait to see them laughing and giggling so happily. It will be a wonderful way to bond, have fun and create memories.
  • We will read him or her children’s bedtime stories and say a prayer every night.
  • We see ourselves running with them in the park, playing soccer and baseball, and playing fetch with Cooper bonding together.
  • We will build sandcastles on the beach together as a family and enjoy the summertime and nature as we live 15 minutes from the beach.
  • We cannot wait to take them to Disney World in Orlando, to the sea aquarium in Miami, and to the zoo in Palm Beach. All these attractions are close to our home.
  • We see them playing baking and cooking in the kitchen – measuring ingredients and decorating cookies – while we cook cupcakes and prepare healthy and nutritious salads and delicious food.
  • We dream of helping them do their home school and patiently see them learning how to write and read by themselves as they grow up.
  • We will always make time for vacations and road trips, sharing our traditions, and making everlasting memories.

We will dedicate our life to giving them every opportunity to grow, thrive, be happy and become the best version of themselves.

What Kind of Parenting Style We Will Have

We know and understand that it is not always easy to commit to a parenting style because every child is unique. Parenting is an ongoing learning process, and no single style guarantees a certain outcome, but no matter their personalities we will always be patient, kind, supportive and adaptable as we navigate this rewarding journey.

We plan to have a Supportive Style parenting – It is a style where we are warm, loving, and affectionate, but we also create boundaries and discipline, and a structure where we support, involve, and encourage our child in making their own decisions. We believe that this is the best parenting style for a child’s development – balancing both guidance and independence will enhance their well-being and their personal growth.

  • We will have our child’s best interest at heart but also being present, engaged, and helpful – actively encouraging them to do their best with school (teaching and solving problems together), their hobbies and interests (empowering them to discover their talents and strengths).
  • We will teach them discipline and support positive behavior – we will teach discipline by showing them how to put their toys away in a fun and creative way for example, also doing some little chores in the house, and always praising them for good behaviors. Each time they show good behavior or accomplish tasks, we will give them stickers until they earn a reward.
  • We do not believe in spanking because we think that spanking often increases aggression and anger in children. We will always choose other methods of discipline, for example time-outs and chores. We will teach good behavior rather than punishing bad behavior.
  • We will save the word “no”, for important and safety issues. Instead of saying “no” to our child all the time, we will explain the consequences of certain choices and behaviors and guide them to make their own decisions. We believe that saying “no” to a child all the time without explaining why, will eventually harm their self-esteem and confidence growing up. We want to explain and show them the consequences of their choices and actions, and support and guide them in their decisions.
  • When they experience setbacks and failures, we will be always next to them to encourage resilience and emphasize the importance of learning from their mistakes and teach them that setbacks and failures are natural parts of life. Our unconditional support will empower them to overcome obstacles and grow into resilient individuals.
  • We believe that communication forms the foundation of a supportive parent-child relationship. Actively listening to our child, without judgment, seeking to understand their concerns, and valuing their thoughts and emotions will foster trust and openness. For example, engaging in meaningful conversations and asking open-ended questions to understand their perspective will encourage them to express themselves freely, without fear of judgment.

While we may not be perfect, we promise to learn from our mistakes and grow alongside your child. Our love for your child will be unconditional and constant, and we will always strive to be the best parents we can be for your child.

Other Questions and Answers

As you consider the kind of parents we will be, we want to answer some of the many questions that you may have for us about how we will raise your child.

Working from Home

  • As a baby, he or she will need a lot of care and attention. We both work from home permanently, and we will be able to give all the care the baby needs at this early age. Growing up, we will always be able to help them with home school, spend time with them doing activities and even talking to them about their friends and their feelings – giving them all the attention they need growing up.

Where the baby will sleep at night

  • We will have a crib next to our bed, and the baby will sleep in the crib every night. It is the safest place for a baby to protect them from SIDS. We will put our baby to sleep on his back on a flat, firm surface and we will probably watch him or her sleep quietly the whole night like a owe 😊

Daycare

  • We would like to wait until the baby is 18 months old or 2 years old to go to daycare. Since we are stay-at-home parents, this allows us for more personal involvement and attachment with our child, figuring out their feeding and sleep patterns, and adjusting to a new life together. But we do think also that it is important for a child to go to daycare. It is important for them to start interacting, socializing and playing with other children – also they are curious and interested in the world around them, they can play independently for short periods of time, they will start adapting to routines, like sleeping through the night without waking up or eating at specific times, they will start expressing themselves with other babies sign language or single words. We have a daycare right around the corner from our house and several others in our area, and we can go drop them off and pick them up at any time during the day.

School Activities and Sports

  • We want our child to be active and always practice school activities and sports. We will encourage them to participate in the school activities and events, and we will also encourage and support them to be part of our community sports activities – soccer, football, baseball, and any other programs.

Bullying at School and Cyberbullying

  • This topic is very important for us and close to our hearts to prevent bullying at school for our child. We will always be proactive and take steps to prevent it from happening. We will be creating values and principles to ensure our child’s happiness and mental well-being at school or anywhere.
    • At home, we will create and encourage an environment of open communication and active listening where we will talk and ask them about their thoughts and feelings.
    • We will be knowledgeable and observant of their behaviors if they are being bullied or engaged in bullying.
    • We will ask questions after school observing our child for signs of bullying constantly.
    • We will teach our child how to handle being bullied and encourage them to talk about it with us and their teachers at school.
    • We will set boundaries with technology, educating them about cyberbullying and teaching them not to respond to threatening messages or emails on Facebook and any other social media platforms.

Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation

  • We believe in creating an environment in our home that fosters love, acceptance, and understanding for all individuals, including those who, and if our child identify herself or himself, as LGBTQ+. It is our commitment to ensure that your child grows up in an inclusive and nurturing home that celebrates diversity in all its forms.
    • We intend to introduce age-appropriate conversations about different identities, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
    • We will provide resources and age-appropriate literature about diverse families, including those with same-sex parents or individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. We will teach them a deep sense of compassion, empathy, and respect for others.
    • We will emphasize the importance of standing up against prejudice and discrimination, and we will lead by example in demonstrating acceptance and love for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
    • Should your child ever express questions or feelings about their own sexual orientation or gender identity, we are dedicated to providing our love and support always. We will actively seek out LGBTQ+ resources, counseling services, and organizations to help them navigate their journey and provide them with a safe space to explore their identity.
    • Our home will be a safe space where your child can freely express themselves, knowing that their thoughts and feelings are valued and respected without judgment.

Your child’s well-being and emotional development are of utmost importance to us, and we are fully committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive and embrace their authentic self.

Education and Personal Growth

  • We will always guide and support your child in achieving the most and farthest they can go at their education level and personal growth. We both have college and master’s degrees, and we believe that education can help you to achieve great success in your life. However, we understand that college is not for everyone, and we will not force him or her if their talents and happiness are elsewhere. We are open-minded to support and guide our child if he or she decides not to go to college and wants to pursue their own talents. Yes, we will support and guide them to discover their unique talents and strengths!

Community Services

  • We live in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood where we know our neighbors and help each other often. Kremena is an IT Professional, and she helps kids and elderly people with their IT computer issues frequently – if it is either fixing their computers, teaching them how to use, or even helping and guiding them how to buy the best computers for them. During the pandemic where a lot of our neighbors’ kids were studying from home, Kremena was busy helping them get their computer ready and all set to online school.

Rodrigo is a Financial Analyst and Accountant, having worked at H&R Block in the past, he is more than happy to help our community families to file their tax returns every year. We love where we live and our community, and we will teach our child the importance of serving our community and helping each other – even a simple act of kindness and service, such as donating toys, helping with chores, or participating in our local community centers – these simple activities will help them to cultivate a sense of responsibility and compassion to others and set a foundation for their own personal growth.

Having more Children

  • We do plan to have more children, and we would love to expand our family through adoption. We have an abundance of love and happiness to share, and we feel called to open our hearts and home to more than one child.

What Would You Like Us to Pass on to Your Child?

Do you have anything that you would like us to pass on to your child from you or your family?

A hobby or an interest that you have, a tradition – holiday or special date or event that you like to celebrate, or a family culture, or something that reminds you of growing up that you enjoyed doing when you were a child.

Our Promise to You

Thank you for looking through our profile and spending time to learn about us. We hope it gave you a glimpse of who we are, our life, home and family, and what your child’s future would look like.

With profound gratitude, we extend our arms and hearts, eagerly awaiting the possibility of welcoming your child into our lives. Should you choose us as adoptive parents, we promise to cherish and love your child unconditionally, forever grateful to you for the blessing you have given us.

We promise you that your child will know the love you have for them. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers, and your child will always know that your sacrificial love for them is the greatest gift in our lives and that it is what brought us together as a family.

We assure you that as parents to your child, we will teach them by example, the great values of love, honesty, faith, and family. We will encourage and support them to explore and develop their abilities to always reach their goals with confidence and healthy self-esteem.
