From Us

Dear Expectant Mother,

We thank you for taking the time to learn about us as you make this tough decision. We cannot imagine the difficulties you are facing, but we know that you are being selfless and courageous. We know in our hearts that you want the best possible life for your child, and we would love to provide that for them. If you choose to entrust us with your child, we promise to unconditionally love and support them. We will provide them with a home and a family full of love, laughter, support and adventure.

We met through a mutual friend in 2010 and started dating in 2012. We immediately got along, realizing that we had many similarities in both demeanor and interests. Our third date was a 1,200 mile road trip to see the Grand Canyon and we had an amazing time. After being together for five wonderful years, we decided to get married in Las Vegas on our way home from a hiking trip in Southern Utah in 2017. Since the beginning of our relationship, we have enjoyed traveling, visiting the national parks and random roadside attraction. We enjoy the outdoors, hiking and seeing all the beauty this country has to offer. We also cherish our time at home where we cook together, garden and enjoy our backyard.

On our journey to grow our family, we have encountered infertility and miscarriages. While this part of our journey was heartbreaking, we knew we could not let it stop us from having children. This path led us to adoption, with the knowledge that there is a brave woman out there, looking for the right home for her child. We dreamed of a future with children that we could love with all our hearts. We looked forward to precious little moments like reading a book together, seeing our children smile and laugh, seeing them walk for the first time and learning to ride a bike. In 2023 we were chosen by our first birthmother and adopted our daughter Lilly. We have an open and warm relationship with Lilly’s birthparents and keep in contact often. We hope to fulfill our dream of expanding our family by adopting a second child to add to our happy family.

If you choose us to raise your child, know that we would provide them with love, support, guidance and compassion. We will nurture their interests and teach them about the world. Part of their world will be knowing their birth story. It is important to us to have our child know about the loving woman who allowed us to have a family.

We would be honored to give your child a loving home. If you feel that a connection between us is possible, we would love to hear from you so that we can get to know each other.

With love and admiration,

Kristin, Rob and Lilly

Why We are Choosing to Adopt

We decided to have a family about six years ago but then encountered infertility and miscarriages. This did not deter us from wanting to start a family and we decided that adoption was the right path for us. In 2023 we were chosen by Lilly’s birthmother and our dream to be a family began. Once we adopted Lilly, we knew that we wanted her to have a sibling. Both of us have siblings and we found that relationship to be a source of endless joy and support. We are hoping to be found and chosen by a courageous woman, looking to find a loving and caring home for her child, where Lilly will grow up alongside them, forming a strong bond as beloved siblings. We look forward to the days where both our children’s laughter could be heard throughout our home, bringing us so much joy.

Our Open Adoption

We are incredibly grateful to have an open adoption with the birth parents of our first child. Our journey began a few weeks before our daughter was born when we first met them, and we immediately felt a strong connection. Since our daughter’s birth, we have maintained regular contact with them, fostering a relationship built on mutual respect and trust. We stay connected through texts and a shared Google photo album where we can share precious moments of our daughter’s life. The bond we share with our birthparents is a cherished aspect of our family dynamic, and we are thankful for them every day. They will always hold a special place in our hearts and will forever be a part of our daughter’s birth story.

About Us

We met through a mutual friend, and although it took two years before we started dating, it felt like we hit it off right away. We quickly realized we shared a lot in common – from our personalities and sense of humor to our interests. Our relationship took an adventurous turn when our third date turned into a spontaneous 1,200-mile road trip to the Grand Canyon. Since then, we’ve become road trip aficionados, exploring national parks and new states together.

After five amazing years together, we decided to get married in Las Vegas, making it official on our way back from a hiking trip in Southern Utah. When we’re not out adventuring, we enjoy spending downtime at home, cooking, gardening, and hanging out with our daughter and two lively cats.

Having pets has always been a big part of our lives, and we believe it brings joy to a child’s upbringing. Our journey to parenthood wasn’t without its challenges – infertility and miscarriages tested our resilience. But we refused to let it deter us from our dream of starting a family. That’s when we decided to adopt our first child, Lilly.

Now, we’re excited to expand our family and give Lilly the gift of a sibling. Both of us value the bond we share with our own siblings, and we want Lilly to experience that same connection and support system as she grows up.

Our Home

We’re fortunate to call Northern California home, where our spacious house sits nestled in a welcoming, well-established neighborhood. Our home boasts a sprawling backyard with lush grassy areas, a refreshing pool, and a thriving vegetable garden – perfect for outdoor gatherings and relaxation.

Our neighborhood is a vibrant community, teeming with friendly neighbors and bustling with the laughter of children playing outdoors. During the summer months, it’s common to see lemonade stands dotting the sidewalks, adding a charming touch to our family-friendly surroundings.

Inside our home, there’s plenty of space for our growing family. Lilly has her own cozy room, and we’ve set aside another room in anticipation of welcoming our next child. A spacious front room doubles as a playroom, filled with an array of toys to spark imagination and endless fun.

Convenience is key in our location – we’re within walking distance of the neighborhood Elementary School, making school drop-offs and pick-ups a breeze. On weekends, we love taking leisurely strolls to one of the nearby playgrounds, enjoying quality family time amidst the backdrop of our scenic surroundings.

Our proximity to various attractions adds to the allure of our location. In about an hour’s drive, we can reach the picturesque ocean, the snow-capped mountains perfect for winter adventures, or the vibrant energy of a bustling city. Whether we’re seeking outdoor escapades or urban exploration, our home provides the ideal starting point for countless memorable experiences.

Our Sweet Kitties

We’ve got two adorable cats: Spike and Trinity. Trinity is a fluffy gray ball of energy and Spike is a lively black cat who loves to play and cuddle. Our two furry pals are a part of our family. They’ve embraced our daughter with open paws, joining in her fun and games with enthusiasm. Whether it’s chasing toys or cuddling up for a nap, they’re always there for her.

And if we get the chance to adopt again, you can bet Spike and Trinity will be right there, ready to join us during those late-night feedings and keeping a watchful eye on the new baby with lots of love. They’re not just pets – they’re part of our family, bringing plenty of energy and happiness to our home.

Our Families and Friends

Kristin’s parents and Rob’s mom live close by, and we see all of them regularly for visits and dinners. They are very excited about the prospect of having a second grandchildren nearby and look forward to being involved in their lives and spoiling them. Kristin also has many cousins and we both have friends who live locally, with happy and active children. Your child will have a sibling and many immediate friends to play with nearby.

We both have siblings who live out of the area. We talk to them regularly and see them on holidays and other occasions. Rob’s sister has two young children who would love to have another cousin. One of our regular traditions is getting together with them. We have a great time visiting local attractions with all the children, and spending time together. Kristin’s brother travels back home often so we see him regularly. He can’t wait to be the uncle again so he can spoil his newest niece or nephew.

Our Lifestyle

We are enthusiastic road-trippers and enjoy the journey as much as the destination. We have hiked through much of the Western US, in both sun and snow and plan to visit as many National Parks and interesting locations as possible. One of our close-to-home adventures involves our jet boat which has been in Kristin’s family for many years. It’s fun and relaxing to take the boat to the lake, go swimming, and have a picnic.

We enjoy spending time together, whether it’s on a trip or at home. Homegrown vegetables are the best and we enjoy watching our tomatoes, strawberries, peppers, and cucumbers grow. We also have two avocado trees that we grew from seeds. Our favorite meal to make together is weekend breakfast. We have perfected scrambles with sausage and a sweet pastry. Another of our quality time activities is playing games such as Uno, Parcheesi and Rummy.

With the addition of our first child, the focus of our adventures has changed to adapt the needs of our daughter. We eagerly anticipate the future when we can share our adventures with not just one, but two children, creating cherished memories together as a family.

Family Traditions

Our main family traditions are around the 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The 4th of July brings together Kristin’s extended family to celebrate her mom and uncle’s birthday. The entire family gets together for fireworks, BBQ and cake. Kristin’s many cousins and their families join in on the fun.

Thanksgiving is a multi-week event in our family. The weekend before Thanksgiving is spent with Kristin’s family. The entire traditional turkey dinner is prepared and everyone is fully stuffed by the end of the evening. Thanksgiving week is spent at Rob’s sister’s house and his mom joins us there too. Rob’s sister and her husband have two children, ages 4 and 6. The week is filled with games with the children, going for walks, sightseeing and enjoying our time together. Thanksgiving Day consists of lots of yummy food and good times.

Kristin, along with her mom, aunt, cousin and Lilly, get together often to bake and make Christmas treats. They carry on the tradition of making chocolate truffles that was started by Kristin’s grandmother over 50 years ago. Christmas is spent with Rob and Kristin’s parents. For Christmas, the house is fully decorated with a tree full of ornaments, decorations that have been collected for many years, and many presents. The house often smells of homemade cookies. We exchange presents, then enjoy a meal together. Rob often barbeques delicious meats and Kristin bakes. It is a joyous time in this household and we look forward to passing on our traditions to your child.
