We want to begin by thanking you for considering us as a loving and caring home for your baby. We can only imagine the incredible courage and strength it has taken for you to make this decision, and we truly honor the love and selflessness that must have led you here.
We want you to know that your child will be welcomed into a world full of love, joy, and opportunity. Every moment of their life will be met with warmth, care, and guidance as they grow up surrounded by a community that will support and cherish them every step of the way. There will be laughter in our home, moments of peace, and a journey of learning and discovery that will be filled with adventure and happiness. We picture Christmases surrounded by cousins, a kitchen coated in flour as we teach them how to make homemade pasta, trips to museums and art galleries, and adventures full of travel and exploration. We are committed to providing a life where your child can flourish, where they will always know their worth, and where they will be encouraged to reach for their dreams.
As we write this letter, our hearts are filled with hope and excitement for the future. We have talked about adoption for many years and cannot imagine a greater calling than to build a happy family based on love. We both deeply desire to be parents, and we look forward to sharing the beauty and promise of this world with your child.
We can only imagine the complex emotions you must be feeling during this journey. Your child will always be a part of you, and we will make sure that they grow up knowing the importance of your story and the love that brought them here. As we are seeking an open adoption, you will have the chance to be in their lives directly. They will always know that their mother was brave, strong, and selfless. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for considering to entrust us with this incredible gift.
With love,
Gabrielle and John
We are incredibly excited at the opportunity to become adoptive parents! Our dream was always to have a home full of children, and after taking some time to make peace with our infertility, we decided that adoption would be a beautiful and loving way to grow our family. We both deeply long to become parents and feel a strong calling to create a home filled with love, warmth, and support. From a young age, Gabrielle always knew that adoption would be a part of her story. She can remember sitting in church as a child, listening to a homily about adoption, and feeling a call to adopt. That pull on her heart never left, and John shares this deep desire to provide a loving family to an adoptive child. We are both eager and ready to offer a home that is not only filled with love but also with play, opportunity, guidance, and encouragement for a bright future. We have an abundance of love to give, and we are committed to providing a nurturing environment where a child can grow, thrive, and rest in the certainty that they are loved unconditionally. We are excited to fill our happy home with more laughter and love!
We are an active and adventurous couple with a passion for exploring the world. Whether we’re traveling abroad or discovering one of our local parks, we love embracing new experiences and learning along the way. Living near Pittsburgh offers us the opportunity to regularly visit museums, galleries, science centers, and libraries, where we soak in all the cultural richness the area has to offer. As educators, we have a love of learning and can’t wait to share a sense of discovery and wonder with our child.
We also love the great outdoors—whether we’re hiking a new trail or taking our camper on cross-country adventures, nature always brings us joy and rejuvenation. When we’re not out exploring, we enjoy spending time at home with our two beloved (and needy) cats, Loki and Baci. At home, John can be found gardening, writing, or reading poetry. Gabrielle’s creativity shines through in her cooking and love of art. She teaches Art History at a local college and enjoys selling her own creations at craft shows. We look forward to sharing our creativity and a love of the natural world with our child.
John is passionate about shaping young minds and strives to instill in his students a strong sense of social justice and the importance of making a positive impact on the world. He is committed to guiding his students to become thoughtful, responsible, and ethical individuals. Gabrielle looks forward to being a stay-at-home mom, dedicating the next few years to nurturing a child and raising them to be well-rounded, kind, and compassionate.
Gabrielle is the best partner I could ever imagine, and she will be an amazing mother for our family. I can best describe her as dedicated, empathetic, and selfless. When Gabbi sets her mind to something, there is nothing that can get in her way. Her intelligence and ability to tackle any situation has always impressed me. She works multiple jobs, teaches at a college, and still finds time to cook all our amazing meals. Gabbi feels an emotional pull to care for those in need and her concern for others is truly inspiring. If a friend or neighbor is sick or grieving, Gabbi is quick to make some soup or bring a note of affirmation. She takes amazing care of our two cats and always thinks of unique and thoughtful ways to surprise our nieces and nephews. Finally, Gabbi gives of herself to everyone she meets. She is always willing to put others first and make sure they are happy. For Gabbi, love is an action. Whether it is an extra helping of homemade food or showing up for the people she cares about, Gabbi is the heart and soul of our family.
John treats everyone he meets with kindness, dignity, and respect. He is an amazing person and a devoted husband who always makes me feel loved and appreciated. He often goes out of his way to write me notes or draw little cartoons to show me how much I mean to him. One of the many reasons that I want to grow a family with him is because I know by the way he treats me and others that he would be the most devoted, loving, caring, and patient father. I am also incredibly proud of John’s work as a teacher and have seen first-hand how much John’s students love and admire him. Prior students often visit or write, thanking him for transforming their lives and helping them grow. In a nutshell, John embodies hard work, integrity, strength, and compassion and actively strives to make the world a better place each day through small acts of kindness, love, and service. He is the best man I have ever known. I am honored to live my life beside him, and I am blessed to call him my husband and the father of my future children.
We love our home and can’t wait to fill it with laughter and play as we welcome a little one! In the winter, we love our big, stone fireplace. We light fires, roast marshmallows, listen to music, and read books. In summer, we enjoy our yard and screened-in porch, where we love to entertain friends, family, and neighbors. The porch, which is on the second story and surrounded by trees, feels like a treehouse and is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet nap in the shade with the cats! We have a large kitchen, and Gabrielle’s mom comes over regularly to try new recipes, especially different types of homemade pasta! John loves gardening throughout the spring and summer, and our most treasured crop is the garlic that Gabrielle’s family originally brought over with them from Italy. We also enjoy taking walks around our friendly and diverse neighborhood. We often check in and visit with our neighbors, celebrating together at parties and helping one another when in need. Being close to Pittsburgh offers all the amenities of the city within reach of our quiet neighborhood.
We are blessed with a large, loving, and supportive family that plays a major role in our lives. Gabrielle’s family is nearby, and we cherish spending time with them every week. Whether it’s gathering for a lively family bonfire or enjoying a cozy outdoor movie night, the aunts, uncles, cousins (and second cousins!) come together to share in each other’s lives. With their warm, spirited Italian roots, they are always ready to support one another, offering love and encouragement. We frequently take the cousins on adventures to the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens, the zoo, or the lake for some quality family time. John’s family, with their deep love of the outdoors, has instilled in us our passion for hiking and camping. We regularly come together for family camping trips, where we spend the day hiking through nature and enjoy sitting around the fire at night, swapping stories and sharing laughter.
We are also active members of our community and have a very large friend and community network. We enjoy spending time with our friends and their children, getting together for game nights, fireworks, pumpkin patches, and trick-or-treat.
As a couple, we deeply value and embrace racial and cultural diversity. We both share a love of learning about other cultures and actually met in college as fellow Anthropology majors! Diversity has remained a cornerstone in our lives—through the books we read, the people we care about, and the places we visit—diversity enriches our world and our personal experiences. We are committed to fostering an inclusive home where all identities and backgrounds are celebrated. We will ensure that our child will grow up with an appreciation and understanding of their identity and cultural background. We look forward to learning about our child’s culture and will teach them to always respect the backgrounds and beliefs of others. Multicultural inclusivity will be an important part of their upbringing, as we strive to create a home where kindness and understanding are always prioritized.
We have two very spoiled cats, Loki and Baci, who bring so much joy to our lives. Baci is sweet and endearing, with a simple, lovable nature, while Loki is the mischievous “evil genius,” always finding new ways to get into trouble! Our shared love of animals is something that has always been a part of us. Gabrielle, in particular, has a long history of rescuing animals in need, having cared for everything from horses to snakes, loving each one as part of the family.
One of our favorite traditions is the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve, an Italian custom celebrated by Gabrielle’s family. This tradition brings the extended family together for days of cooking, laughter, and preparation, culminating in a beautiful Christmas Eve filled with an abundance of delicious food, family togetherness, gift-giving, and a special visit from Santa!
On Easter, we gather with John’s family to celebrate their Eastern European traditions. The cousins, aunts, and uncles dye eggs together, we make homemade pierogis, and there’s a big Easter Egg Hunt for all the cousins! Our faith traditions are an important aspect of our life, and our child would grow up knowing how much they are unconditionally loved by God.
Camping together has become another cherished family tradition. We love taking our camper to parks both near and far, where we can disconnect from the digital world to enjoy nature’s beauty. We always find that hiking, exploring, and simply being immersed in the outdoors is a restorative experience.
First and foremost, we promise that your child will be loved without measure. We will devote our lives to giving your child a world of happiness, unconditional love, and opportunity. Your baby will grow up knowing that their mother was strong, selfless, and wanted nothing but the best for them. We will raise your child teaching them the values of kindness, responsibility, generosity, and respect for themselves and others. They will experience a childhood that is full of laughter, play, learning, and discovery. We look forward to taking them camping and hiking, sharing with them the beauty and majesty of nature. We are excited to travel on family vacations, seeing the world together. We imagine trips to museums, symphonies, theater productions, and science centers. Your child will know that the world is beautiful and full of promise, and they will have every opportunity to succeed. We view adoption as the greatest gift of our lives, and we want to reiterate how thankful we are to you for considering us.
We deeply look forward to being parents and providing a world of love and possibilities for your child, and we vow that your child will always know you as a brave, loving, and selfless person. You will remain a part of their life and journey as they grow. We promise to love your child with all our hearts, unconditionally, for the rest of our lives. We have prayed and hoped so long for a baby—thank you for this miracle.
