As we write these words, our hearts swell with an overwhelming desire to embrace the journey of parenthood once again by welcoming a sibling to our daughter and a child into our lives. Having a big family has always been our dream. We want to express our deepest admiration for your bravery in considering adoption for your precious child. We imagine that the decision to entrust your child to someone else’s care is incredibly profound and we want you to know that you’re seen and heard and that for us, you are the bravest woman we could ever meet! We cannot wait to get to know you and we want to thank you for considering us to be a part of your child’s journey. Your child will not only be cherished but will complete the missing piece in our hearts. We would love to have you continue to be a part of your child’s life, though we are open to whatever relationship you choose and we will respect it. Regardless, we promise that your child will always know the incredibly strong woman who brought them into this world. Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

Having faced our fertility challenges for 4 years, we’ve decided to embark on the journey of adoption once again as adoption has given us the opportunity to become parents and has been a journey of many emotions, growth and learning. Our hearts are filled with love and we believe this is the path meant for us. Although adoption has always been considered since the beginning of our relationship as Alana’s grandmother adopted two of her uncles and has always. Our experiences have strengthened our desire to create a loving home, and though our paths may have differed, our wish for a family unites us. We have so much more love to give. Our home is filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support, and we would be honored to welcome your child into our lives with open arms and full hearts.

Our Relationship with Our Child’s Birth Mother:

Our journey with our daughter’s Birth Mother has been one of the most beautiful, unexpected gifts we could have ever imagined. From the beginning, she welcomed us into her life with trust, courage, and love, creating a bond that goes far beyond our shared connection to our daughter. This open adoption has been about so much more than just bringing a precious child into our family it’s been about creating a network of love and support for her that stretches wider than we ever thought possible. Our relationship is built on respect, compassion, and a shared dream for our daughter’s future.

Lifestyle

We have many fun family traditions we enjoy including Halloween haunted house neighborhood decor, trick or treating, Thanksgiving meals for homeless and dinner with family with letters of what we’re grateful, Christmas tree lightings and decor, matching family pajamas, baking cookies and preparing Puerto Rican meals, attending town festivities, New Year’s dinner, yearly trips with family, Easter egg hunt with family, Sunday Family dinners, movies and game nights.

We are not just partners in life, but also in healthcare! We have mixed roles as primary care physicians at our clinic and also at the local ER, always striving to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients. As health practitioners we are also very involved in our community and we are actively looking for activities that benefit our people so annually we provide a free health clinic day which allows the people in need to come for a free checkup. We assure you that your heritage and traditions would be acknowledge and imprinted in your child as we will celebrate them as our own. We will always educate, acknowledge and respect your child’s cultural and personal background.

Alana is a remarkable woman whose warmth and kindness radiate in every aspect of her being. Her presence illuminates the lives of those around her with joy and love. She has an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished, and it’s no wonder that she effortlessly captures the hearts of those who have the privilege of knowing her, like she has done with myself. It’s no wonder I fell in love with her. From day one I knew that she was the woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and the one I wanted to have a family with. A captivating quality about Alana is her extraordinary talent with children. From the moment she interacts with them, it’s evident that she possesses a genuine love and understanding of their unique world. Her patience knows no bounds, and she has an uncanny ability to connect with children on their level, speaking to them with kindness and empathy. I can’t wait to watch her loving and nurturing our own children.

About Manuel by Alana

Manuel was born to be a dad. He has always had this vibe that kids are drawn to like an instant connection. Imagine he’s the godfather of 8 of our closest friends’ children. To be a father has always been his dream as he comes from a big family of 5 siblings. He is the youngest of the boys. He is the guy people call when they need help and he never turns down. He is the backbone of our family, my soulmate, the best dad and my best friend, he inspires me to be better, to accomplish all my aspirations, dreams and ambitions. He is devoted to his family and to the community as a physician. He is always looking for better ways to help people all around. I admire his hard work and dedication to all he does. His unwavering support during hard times and his way for making me laugh.

Our Home

We live in the east coast of Puerto Rico in a beach resort gated community consisting of a country club, boat marina, golf courses, trails, Private School, horse stables, tennis courts, beach club, restaurants, residences and hotels. We live in a quiet and very friendly neighborhood. Our house is conveniently located on a dead end street surrounded only by our wonderful neighbors whom have become our loving extended family. Our home has 5 bedrooms with many of space for your child to enjoy, we have a beautiful backyard view of the golf course where we enjoy relaxing sunsets by the pool.

Our Family

We, along with our family and friends, are eager and looking forward to welcoming a child into our family that we can love, spoil and share our family traditions. We will also ensure your child’s heritage, culture, and traditions are included. We are a big family, Alana is an only child and Manuel has 4 siblings both families come together. We have an incredible support system ready to help out whenever we need and we are very close. Manuel’s family all live about 25 minutes from us but we see them every week. Alana’s family lives about 2 hours away right by the beach. We enjoy visiting them on the weekends and eating fish. If we don’t go on the weekends, they will come to us and both families enjoy the time together.

Racial and Cultural Diversity

As Puerto Ricans we have a mix of Spaniard, African and Taino making us very diverse. Should your child have a cultural heritage different than our own, we intend to expose your child to his or her natural heritage and when appropriate, visit the country of the child’s heritage and do all things appropriate to allow the child to maintain and understand their country of origin and its social practices. We will research the geography and culture of the area where your child was born and plan to make that knowledge a part of their life from the very beginning. Additionally, we are willing to study all available materials pertinent to your child’s culture, education and background.

Our Pets

Our pets are a big part of our life we have 3 beautiful and loving dogs Luna, Ruby (yorkies) & Stella (westie) and a parrot african grey called Ollie who likes to talk a lot! Also we have a farm with horses, goats and cattle. Your child will be surrounded with lovable and kind pets.

Meet Olivia

Our little girl, Olivia, is truly the light of our lives. She is 8 months old, incredibly kind, with a calm and gentle presence that melts our hearts. Her beautiful smile lights up the room, and her little giggles are pure joy. She has such a loving nature, reaching out to us with warmth and curiosity that without doubt will share with her sibling!
