Why We're Adopting

Our family is incredibly excited to embark on the adoption journey, a path we’ve felt destined for in our hearts. Four years ago, we were blessed with our daughter, Keira, but since then, we’ve faced the heartache of miscarriage and the challenge of infertility. Despite these struggles, our desire to expand our family has only grown stronger. The dream of loving and cherishing an adopted child has always been a part of us, and we know this is the right direction for our family. We wholeheartedly embrace the adventurous spirit of military life, finding immense joy in every new destination and the connections we make along the way. Committed to our military careers, we thrive on the fulfilling blend of hard work and joyful moments that come with serving our nation. Family time is our most cherished treasure, filled with laughter, exploration, and unforgettable outings with our daughter, Keira. About Evan

I fell deeply in love with Evan for countless reasons, but foremost among them is his pure heart, overflowing with kindness and affection, unafraid to openly express his love and share his emotions. He possesses a remarkable intellect which never fails to amaze me. Evan’s unwavering honesty and loyalty are pillars of strength in our relationship. His moral compass guides him with unwavering integrity, a trait that I truly admire and respect. Evan thinks he is very funny, and even his worst dad jokes can bring a smile to your face. He is the nickname king, always coming up with new and inventive sweet nicknames for all of our family members. He is not only a good man, but an exceptional one— a devoted husband and a loving father. His presence fills our home with warmth, laughter, and an abundance of love, making every moment with him a cherished blessing.

Our Home and Cali, our puppy

Our puppy Cali is a small, energetic pomeranian with a playful spirit. She loves playing fetch with Keira and has bursts of energy that lead to zoomies, but she also enjoys relaxing with cuddles on the couch. Cali is very sweet natured and good around kids.

Our neighborhood is a vibrant and family-friendly place with multiple parks, playgrounds, a swimming pool, and frequent special events for kids. It’s the kind of place where you can’t go anywhere without making new friends. Being part of a larger military family also means that our supportive military community follows us wherever we go, giving us the chance to meet incredible people and form lasting friendships. We love celebrating the unique aspects of each place we live. Here in California, we especially enjoy the sunshine, beautiful weather, and proximity to the beach – and of course Disneyland. Our community provides an environment perfect for raising a family and creating lifelong memories.

Our Extended Family

Our extended family is a loving network that plays a central role in our lives. Between Evan and Katie, we have three sisters, two brothers, one niece, three nephews, four wonderful grandparents, and countless cousins. We cherish open, loving relationships with all our family members. Evan’s side of the family is beautifully diverse, blending African American and Italian heritage. We stay closely connected with our families, FaceTiming at least once a week and texting daily to share updates and stay involved in each other’s lives. Both our families are incredibly supportive of our adoption journey and are eager to help us in any way they can. Their unwavering support and love will provide a strong, nurturing network for our growing family.

Meet our Daughter Keira

Our 4 year old daughter Keira is a fun-loving and sweet girl with a wide array of interests that keep her happily engaged. She has a natural talent for painting and reading, and she lights up when she’s dancing, practicing gymnastics, or playing soccer. Keira’s friendly nature means she makes a new best friend everywhere she goes. Her kindness shines through in her actions, and she always has a kind word to say about everyone. She prays for a sibling every evening and cannot wait to share her interests. With her caring and thoughtful nature, Keira has all the qualities to be a wonderful big sister.

Family Traditions

Both Evan and Katie’s parents are incredibly supportive and actively involved in our lives. We cherish the times we get to visit with them a few times each year. We are hoping to move closer to them so we can see them on a daily basis! Our extended family are also a vital part of our lives, and we make it a point to see them at least twice a year. One of our most beloved traditions is our annual beach visit with our extended family and cousins. These trips are filled with laughter, fun in the sun, and the joy of being together. We take great pride in celebrating the diversity within our family, embracing the rich cultural tapestry that different races bring to our extended family gatherings. At home, we treasure family dinners, followed by playful evenings running around the backyard or visiting the park. Bedtime is a special ritual for us, as we snuggle in bed, read books together, and say our prayers before tucking Keira in for the night. She is very excited about the prospect of reading to a new sibling, sharing her love of books and stories. These traditions not only create a strong sense of family unity but also fill our lives with joy and love.
