Favorites

Michael

My favorite hobby is farming!
Favorite dessert is a vanilla milkshake.
Golf is my favorite sport to play. I think it is the only sport that you can be bad at and no one judges you. The only people who are good at Golf are on TV.

Allison

I love to collect Disney items! My collection has all of the "original" Disney films. My favorites are Lion King, Bambi, Tarzan and The Little Mermaid. I guess that makes sense as to why I have a farm now! I love animals.
My favorite dessert is vanilla ice cream with peanuts and chocolate syrup!
My favorite author is Dr. Seuss! Bradley has a bookshelf full of his books and we love to read them together.
I have played the guitar since I was 12 years old!

From Us to You

This journey, for us and for you, is a journey no one can understand until they go through it. We are all going to feel different things throughout this entire journey. We want you to know that we love you and appreciate you. We want you to always be able to keep up with your baby’s life and accomplishments. We are open to making sure you always feel loved, appreciated and supported. We are so blessed to have this opportunity and will never take it for granted. Your baby will always know that she/he has another mom, her birth mom. We will be 100% transparent from the beginning about the adoption. Your baby will always know that you did an amazing, selfless act to bless complete strangers. We are also open to speaking with your baby in ways you would want us to. Our goal during this journey is to assure you that your baby will be so deeply loved and cared for.

Why We Are Choosing to Adopt

We have talked about adopting for a few years. It has always been in our plans but we wanted to make sure we were 100% ready so that we give your baby the best life she can possibly have. I (the adopting Mother) have had 2 successful pregnancies and 2 c-sections. Unfortunately we lost a baby last year when I was 8 weeks along. My body has decided that it is not able to bear children anymore. We believe that this was a sign from God to start our adoption journey. We are so ready and excited to meet you and your baby. Us and the boys talk about it almost every second of every day. We will be the best parents you could ask for. We will love your baby more than you can imagine and are so blessed to start this journey with you.

What We Will Teach Our Children: We make it a point to teach our children how to be respectful to everyone. It is extremely important to us that they learn how to be genuine and caring individuals. Yes, the world can be tough so we try to do our best to prepare them for any situation by teaching them love can help with most situations.

Lifestyle

Life in our household is busy, but rewarding. We are always looking for new ways to have fun and do something exciting. We don’t have very many “lazy” or “down” days! On the weekends, we like to play with our farm animals. We have bunnies, goats, horses, donkeys and sheep. We spend a lot of time with them so that they’re super friendly for our petting zoos! When we’re not farming, we usually play paintball, go bowling or skating. We like to act like we’re professional skaters! As much fun as we have, we also have a slew of responsibilities during the week. This is why we play so hard on the weekends. We were blessed with the opportunity to enroll Jayden and Bradley in a local private school. We spend most of the week doing school activities such as soccer, basketball, tennis, Lego club and cross country. Both of the boys join as many school sports and academic teams as possible because they enjoy them so much. We always joke about how we should just go ahead and work at the school because we’re there so much! In saying all of this, life for your baby will be structured and rewarding. He/she will have an amazing support system at home and at school.

All About Allison by Michael

Allison, or Allie as most of us call her, enjoys spending time by the pool while listening to music. It’s not uncommon to find her near a lake fishing either, although you will not find her swimming in lake water. She adores all of our farm animals and is always there to lend a hand with farm chores. If I had to guess, I’d say baby goats are her favorite of all of them. The two things she is most passionate about though, are being a wife, and being the best mother possible. She has dedicated herself to our family by making sure we all have what we need, while rarely making time for her own wants and needs. Allie is the most organized person I’ve ever met. She’s mastered the art of using spreadsheets to keep track of everything. She’s funny, smart, kind, caring, loving, and beautiful inside and out. I’m so grateful to have Allison as my wife. She is my best friend.

All About Michael by Allison

Michael is an absolutely amazing person. I have known him since we were crazy kids in high school and he has grown into a Godly, caring and genuine man. I look forward to you meeting him because I know you will love him!

One of my favorite things about Michael is how funny he is. He makes everyone laugh and becomes friends with anyone he meets. We can’t listen to a song without him giving us “his remix”. He turns songs into hilarious versions of our life! Since Jayden was 3 years old, Michael has coached his baseball and soccer teams. We didn’t know much about soccer when Jayden wanted to start playing so we had a lot to learn. Michael spent so much time learning all of the plays, verbiage, rules, etc. until he understood the game 100%. All because 3 year old Jayden showed interest in the sport. Now, going to the local high school soccer games, watching major league soccer and being involved in Jayden and Bradley’s school soccer is one of our favorite things to do.

Our Home

When Michael was in the military, we lived in quite a few places. We have lived in many different states and have been around all kinds of different people. This has helped us in deciding where we wanted to live to raise our family.

We live on a quiet 2 lane road in a rural area- not too far outside of town. We are in love with our home and the people around us. We have our farm animals, a beautiful yard where we play soccer, a basketball court and a pool. Jayden and Bradley enjoy being home and playing outside. Bradley’s favorite part is the zip line in the back yard! (Don’t worry, it’s only 2ft. off the ground) We also have a county park right down the road that we like to take the kids to for fishing. We all really enjoying a relaxing day at the park fishing. Jayden has caught the record fish in the family so far! He was so proud.

Our Family

We have a HUGE family! Our family is made up of blood relatives, adoptive family and friends. Throughout our lives, we have learned that blood doesn’t make you family. Love is what makes a family. From the beginning of our marriage, we believed in this. Michael came into Allison and Jayden’s lives when Jayden was 6 months old and took us both in as HIS family. He later adopted Jayden and never looked back!

We also have an extremely diverse group of people amongst all of us. Allison’s brother in law originates from El Salvador and just recently got his citizenship. They have a beautiful baby together that your baby will be able to grow up with. Michael’s sister has 3 beautiful bi-racial children that will be amazing cousins to your baby and are so excited to welcome her into the family. The kid’s school community is made up of many different cultures. They attend a private school that is made up of foreign exchange students and kiddos from all over the world. Jayden has learned to speak German recently because his best friend is fluent in German!

Racial and Cultural Diversity

We are 100% open to all cultures and ethnicities. Having a child in our home that has a different race or cultural background than us would be a wonderful learning experience for our family. We would immerse ourselves into as many traditional practices so that your baby would know their ancestors and history. We want your baby to grow up and be who they are while also knowing where they came from and enjoy traditions from their biological cultural.

Our Kids

Hi, I’m Jayden and I am 15 years old. I have always wanted a baby sister and can’t wait to meet your baby. I want to teach her how to play soccer and basketball so she can be on the team at school. My dad, Michael, adopted me when I was 3 years old. He has always loved me and treated me better than I could have asked for. I know he is going to be a great dad to your baby like he was to me.

Hi, I’m Bradley and I am 11 years old. I have wanted a baby sister since I was 5 years old. The school I go to is a great school with great people and she will love it. I play basketball and soccer. I also do cross country and run 3k and 5k’s with my dad. My mom and dad are also so great and I love them very much. Thank you so much for letting us have your baby and I will love her so much and so will the rest of us.

Traditions

Thanksgiving and Christmas are a big deal in our family!

Thanksgiving

  • Every year our family rotates hosting Thanksgiving each year. This upcoming year will be our turn to host and we’re so excited!
  • Thanksgiving dinner includes traditional ham, turkey, greens, mac and cheese, deviled eggs (“Angel Eggs” as we call them), pies, and other desserts.
  • After dinner, we draw names for Secret Santa, allowing everyone time to shop before Christmas.

Christmas

  • There are separate Secret Santa events for adults and kids, so the kiddos can buy gifts for their cousins and siblings.
  • Christmas dinner includes a mac- n-cheese competition, with Aunt Hollie often winning.
  • After dinner, we play 4-5 games, starting with Secret Santa. One of our favorite games is the saran wrap ball. The kids always have the most fun playing this game!

If we are blessed with a child with a different culture than us, we will incorporate foods, cultural traditions, and anything we can so that we can honor the baby’s history and culture. This will bring even more excitement into our family traditions.

Our Promise to You

  • We value the meaning of life and living everyday to our best ability.
  • We hope to teach our children the importance of love.
  • We want our children to be passionate about something- no matter what it may be.
  • We believe that children should be heard. Just because they are children doesn’t mean their feelings aren’t valid.
  • Children have bad days too. It’s okay for a child to be emotional or get overwhelmed.

You are about to make the hardest decision any person can make. You are a strong and beautiful woman- don’t ever let anyone make you feel differently. Your child will know what a beautiful and self-less thing you did for us. Your child will see you as a hero and nothing less. This is our promise to you. We don’t want you to be completely absent from your child’s life. We want your baby to have some type of relationship with you. The baby deserves to have as many people love him/her as possible. A child can’t have too much love! Always know that we love you and are so blessed to have this opportunity.
