It is
actually quite difficult to put into words what our adoption journey has been
like. Yet, at the moment, I am sitting in the study of our home listening to
the sweetest sounds I believe I’ve ever heard. They are coming from our
daughter, who is now almost 8 months old.

Though unplanned, we were lucky enough to meet our birthmother and spend some time with her. We are so thankful to her for her difficult and unselfish decision.

When I think of all that we did to have a family, it’s hard to believe that Adoption Network Law Center and the people within it made or adoption so easy for us. Through our journey, and prior to working with you, we faced many challenges and were met with much disappointment. Many families like us face the similar issues and wonder if their dreams of having a family will ever come true.

Although it took us about 1
year to get all our paperwork in (including 2 home studies in different states), within 2.5
months of being added to the ANLC website, we were blessed with a beautiful
little boy!

One December day when I was running from the operating room to an office full of patients, I got this astounding phone call from our Adoption Advisor asking a question that changed our lives… “Do you want a baby?” We were so excited and filled with a thousand different thoughts that we had a hard time staying focused. Our Advisor was a Godsend. She explained in detail the birth parents, the adoptive process and gave us the love and support we needed. As you can imagine, there were a lot of tears of joy being at this as we cancelled work, made flight reservations and hugged a lot. We were lined up with the baby’s father and informed about all of the information that we needed to exchange.

I am a single lady and my biggest dream in life was
to be a mother. ANLC made my maternal dream come true!

Today, we stand profoundly amazed at the miracle of life and at watching our son grow and thrive. It is such a blessing to see our son
enjoy his childhood, as he stands before us now in his dinosaur pajamas playing with his trucks and cars and making “Broom… Broom” sounds. “Some people come into our lives and they leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same.”(Unknown)  We have been blessed with a gift, and we will never be the same.

Nine days later we were holding our son Anthony. Yes, the Adoption Network Law Center placed us with our healthy newborn son in approximately nine weeks!!
